i've always liked this one. i'm a big fan of bookstores, although i don't like mysteries very much. i also recently translated a passage from this book.

I thought it was funny in this one how the triplets almost got kicked out of the movie theater because they were throwing popcorn at everyone while their mom was in the bathroom.

I liked how after observing the triplets' behavior that day, Tom Cates said something like, "No wonder they need to go places with their mom." It's true.

^Lol, it is true. But later on in the book, Tom does become pretty good friends with Byron Pike. Didn't Adam and Jordan also get in a fight with a guy at the arcade the same day?

Haha, yep, a fight breaks out. And Tom and Byron do become friends, that was nice.

I don't think Tom was ever mentioned again, though. That was sad.

Nope, as is often the case with families introduced in the mysteries. Gillian seemed really sweet.

I think it would have been interesting to see more of Byron's and Tom's friendship. I thought it was interesting that he was actually friends with byron instead of "the triplets".

I didn't like this book the first time I read it, but upon reread it wasn't that bad. It made me want to pull out my Edgar Allan Poe book and read some of the stories again!
It's been raining in Massachusetts for the majority of the summer, so I know how the kids in the book felt! I almost wish somebody in my town would have a Sunny Day Festival.
I liked Tom and Gillian, wish they would have made another appearance. I would have liked to know if their mom ever did come and visit them or if she just pulled a Patrick on the family.
Sadly, all I could think about during the chapter where Logan and Mary Anne are priming the walls was if he was going to whip his shirt off again somehow. I just kept thinking of that movie Galaxy Quest, where Tim Allen loses his shirt in a fight with the rock monster and Sigourney Weaver makes a snarky comment about how he managed to get his shirt off again. I don't know why, it's not like Logan was shirtless every chance he got, but it was just the way my mind was working today. I probably am not making any sense right now.

Reread this one a few days ago and it is super long and boring. There were some cute parts that everybody has already mentioned but on the whole it was kind of a snooze. I agree with whoever said that this book made them want to watch the Simpsons raven episode because that's all I could think of throughout the book. I did really like the part when Alan teases Claud about Tom and thought it could be read as foreshadowing for the Claudia/Alan ship in the FF series. Nice to see some consistency (even if coincidental) for a change!

I think my favorite thing about this book is the interiors. I like imagining the bookstore and the apartment above the bookstore sounds cool too. I have been watching a lot of HGtv today.

The thing that always gets me is the cover- skimpy top much? It seems like on later and later covers MA blossemed into a sex kitten.

^It was because of a different artist. I remember the first time I looked at this cover, I was surprised by MA's older-looking appearance. Makeup, spaghetti straps, plus her hairstyle is more flattering.
I agree, greer, about imagining the bookstore and their home above it. I wanted there to be more books that mentioned Poe and Co. but there wasn't going to be much chance of that.
