Has anyone else read the other 2 christmas holiday sweet valley books other than BIG for Christmas? I think one is about Elizabeth wishing she was never born and then seeing what it would have been like, and the other about the twins finding out why they were so close or something like that. I'm curious to know if they are worth checking out.

One is called The Magic Christmas, and I just read it for the second time this year. The funny thing is that I didn't remember the book at all (other than the very vague main plot line), but I remembered it being SUPER SCARY. When I reread it this Christmas, I realized it was NOT super scary, in fact it was barely even a little scary. But I guess scary when you are 7 is different than scary when you are 26 LOL

I think there's a few actually. The one I read this year was The Year Without Christmas, which I hadn't read before, and Jessica is basically horrible, and keeps reliving Christmas Even until she is nicer to Liz. Magic Christmas is the one with the dolls? And Big for Christmas is the one where they are adults, and the Christmas without Elizabeth is basically like It's a Wonderful Life (classic, Jess is all gang like without Liz).
Oh, I love Sweet Valley.
Okay, so there a few Christmas ones (not counting regular books):
Super Editions 2. Holiday Mischief 10. The Year Without Christmas 11. Jessica's No Angel
Super Chillers 1. The Christmas Ghost
Magna Editions 1. The Magic Christmas 2. BIG For Christmas 3. A Christmas Without Elizabeth

In general, I don't really enjoy books about Christmas. There are actually two Jacqueline Wilson books that spring to mind for me, though. I read the first one when I was about seven or eight, and the other when I was ten, since it had only just come out. They are "The Suitcase Kid" and "Clean Break".
The reason I think of Christmas for "The Suitcase Kid" is that it ends there. The book has alphabet chapters. The last three are "X is for Xmas", "Y is for Yacht" and "Z is for Zoe". The first one is the fact that it IS Christmas, and it talks a bit about how the heroine's life is improving. The story is mostly about what it's like to be a divorced kid, covering how the heroine has to live one week with her mom, one with her dad, and she doesn't really belong there. When she stays with her mom, she has to share a room with her bratty stepsister (they're the same age, but her stepsister's really spoilt and mean) and she can't even get to sleep because her stepsister has a horror of sleeping (her mother died and the adults said it was like going to sleep because she was too little to understand so she got scared of sleeping) and watches horror movies to keep herself awake. When she stays with her dad, she has to use a sleeping bag and shares her room with her five-year-old stepsiblings - this stepsister offered to let her share her bed but it didn't happen. Things get a little better. Her same age stepsister actually cleared a space for her to keep stuff on the windowsill and stopped fighting with her so much, and she gets on really well with her other stepsiblings on her mom's side (she's quite friendly with her stepbrother and doesn't mind her other stepsister), and she gets on well with her stepsister on her dad's side, although she doesn't like her twin brother much. The Y chapter talks about her toy mascot's favourite Christmas present - her stepbrother (the older one) made a wooden yacht for the mascot to sail in...yeah, it's a lot better in context. The Z chapter is about her half-sister (her dad and stepmother's daughter) arriving just after Christmas, and becoming her favourite sibling. She states that Zoƫ is her favourite sibling and that she can nearly always stop her crying. But enough about that - it just made the story feel Christmassy, even though A through to W isn't really at all.
"Clean Break" spans over a year, starting on Christmas Day, and ending on the following Christmas Eve. The story begins "I thought it was going to be the best Christmas ever", and the ending says "Maybe this really would be the best Christmas ever". The story really follows a family after the heroine's adored stepfather (her siblings' actual father) leaves them for another woman, and they don't see him for a long time. The idea of Christmas linked with the father is also emphasized with the Christmas presents the kids get - the younger brother writes letters with his felt tips saying he'll be a big brave boy if his dad comes back. The younger sister gets a reindeer glove puppet called Dancer who the heroine gets to tell stories about Santa to cheer up her family. Finally, the heroine herself has a ring that is possibly a real emerald (her stepdad sometimes calls her Emerald - her storytelling with Dancer imitates the way her dad told stories about them as a prince and princesses - her real name is Emily, but her alter ego is Princess Emerald). The story itself is about how hard it is to get through the year with only their mom, who's just as depressed and hurt as her kids (their gran lives there too, but she doesn't get counted). Ending on Christmas Eve was a really good idea - personally, I would've liked to see what happened and if they really did have a wonderful Christmas, but I guess we'll never know.

Among the many holiday books I read, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is one of my favorites.
I'd say The Secret Life of Mary Anne Spier is my favorite of the BSC holiday books.
The movies/films I watch ever year are numerous...for starters, I watch:
The Holiday
Last Holiday
Four Christmases
This Christmas
Christmas Vacation
The Family Stone
Nativity Story
The Little Drummer Boy
The Santa Clause
Elf
Fred Claus
A Christmas Story, both movies
Several editions of A Christmas Carol
The Elf on the Shelf
Christmas With the Kranks
Family Man
December Boys
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Polar Express
Those are just some of the holiday films I see every year from early December to early January.
The one thing is, there are not nearly enough good Hanukkah movies out there.
