I was just about to look for this thread as it's getting to be time to make my Christmas reread list. ;D I love the holiday books in the BSC and LS and wish there were more. ;D I never noticed more towards the end of the series but I think you're right.

I think Karen's Wish is the best Christmas book Ann M. Martin has written, I thought Karen's Mystery was sweet too though it was before christmas
Did anyone else notice that there were no more super specials for little sister after Karen's Campout and the rest of the holiday season books were just regular books in the series? I figured it was because of religious affiliations too.
Hey if you want to read about Christmas in July in Farewell Dawn, that was a good read as well, and how they did something for Stacey in the babysitters summer vacation at the end.

On the one hand, I wish there had been more LS Super Specials, but on the other hand, it doesn't really matter 'cause the stories aren't any longer than the regular books, there are just stupid games at the end that I never cared about. I wish there had been LS Super Specials that were actually longer than the regular LS series books.

I couldn't agree more Wanderingfrog. I was reading a LS super special the other day and noticing how short it was. Although I do admit I do like looking at the games and little projects at the back of the book. I thought they were cute.

I really thought the games were cute too. I only had Karen's Baby and I loved the games in the back.

I thought the jokes, recipes, and how-to stuff were good ideas. They should have stuck to that stuff and left out the writing stuff. Cause you do a maze or a connect the dots once and then what? You're stuck with a book that's been written in. One of them had a tiny color by number picture that would look like crap if you actually colored it.

The activities at the back of Karen's Wish sounded like so much fun! I liked the gift certificate for a day off from chores and made one for my mom

If you want Christmas themed books from early in the series, you're going to have to settle with Little Sister books like Super Special #1 Karen's Wish (the BEST out of anyone in Stoneybrook) and SS #3 Karen's Mystery. Later holiday books for Karen include Karen's Big Weekend (I heard it's good) and Karen's Reindeer (it was alright)

Karen's Big Weekend is awesome. Christmas and New York? Can't beat that IMO.

I know, that's why I want to read it so badly, but it was not in the stores when I went to go buy it around release time, maybe it sold out
