I thought that it might be interesting to discuss what each sitter's birthday experiences might be like, almost as if they made a BSC Birthday series (kind of like the Portrait Collections but different. I imagine something with lame titles like "Happy Birthday, Kristy!" and "Happy Birthday, Stacey!" because the series was lame like that with titles and such).
What would the sitters be doing? What would the books be about? I'd like to imagine them set at different times to reflect the sitter's birthday. Like Kristy's is in the summer so they could be by the pool or since Logan is born in January, he could be skiing or building a snowman or something. It might be cute to see a scene where Richard throws MA a surprise dinner or Stacey is out shopping for Maureen for a birthday outfit.

Cool idea, especially since I just re-read Claudia's portrait about her 6th birthday, so have BSC birthdays on the brain a little. Lol, I guess I should ask what birthday we are imagining? The only ones we ever read about besides Claud turning 6 were three Claudia and Kristy turning 12, MA 13, and Jamie Newton 4. I love the idea of Richard making MA a surprise dinner and look forward to everyone's ideas. Maybe we could even make mini fanfics out of them?

I like that idea. Each year, will explain their birthdays. Like Claudia's 1st birthday, Claudia's 2nd birthday, & so on. Mini fanfics will be good. Go think about this for while.

oooh I love reading about any stoneybrook person's birthday, so this sounds cool! I'm surprised no one caught that Mallory met Amelia Moody on her own birthday according to the 1993 Calendar and her bookmark from Dream Horse

We also read about Stacey's 4th in her portrait book, and Karen's 7th in Little Sister. And Sharon's 42nd (43rd?) in the Great Romance.
This made me giggle because my birthday is also in January, and it's miserable. I'm picturing myself getting birthday frostbite while I'm out making my special snowman.

^ Bwahahaha! That made me laugh!
You know how the portrait collections each have separate chapters and stories? I picture it to be something like that. We do hear about some birthdays but it might be interesting to hear about a progression (birthdays from various years) OR planning for their 13th birthday.

would have liked to read about mary anne's 13th birthday if mary anne the bugger didn't run out of her own party, I know she's shy, but who does that? maybe it was ann's way of saying mary anne doesn't want to grow old.....she was granted her wish for the 90's and 00's

I can imagine a chapter in either Stacey or Claud's book where they go out for a birthday celebration together. Maybe to the mall, out to the movies, and to dinner. It would be interesting to read what they'd talk about. Or maybe seeing Mary Anne and Kristy think back to past birthdays and maybe presents they've given each other throughout the years. It would have been cute if the Thomases threw Mary Anne a surprise birthday party, but then again, we all know how she feels about those!

^ I wonder if it would be anything like Robin Sparkles Let's Go To the Mall video, if not the awkward Mallory and Jessi shopping trip in book #47. I think Stacey got both in her book, her birthday party as a kid, and going all over NYC with Claudia to some cool places.

Kristy: I could see her going to a softball game and then having a quiet dinner with her family. I could also see her planning every detail of the other girl's birthday parties and maybe planning parties for some of the charges Mary Anne: Definately a quiet dinner with her family and maybe the club but nothing big. We already know how that turned out Claudia: I could see her having a party with the BSC and a bunch of classmates. Sort of like the one she had in Claudia's big party but less hectic Stacey: Clubbing in NYC Dawn: On the beach in California Not sure about the others though.

^ I like your ideas!
It might actually be nice to see Mallory going out for a birthday dinner with her parents ... alone. It might have been refreshing to see how she interacted with her parents without the rest of her siblings.

Those are nice ideas, I see the softball one for Kristy most likely happening, followed by going out for pizza afterwards with friends that also has a sports bar.
Mary Anne would have a sleepover party
Claudia would rent a room for a party instead of having it at home, and possibly suggest a dress code theme, like the 50's or something related to art
Stacey would do hers in NYC at a fancy, sophisticated restaurant followed by a Broadway musical like Chess
I see Dawn having her birthday party at Cabbages and Kings like that place in Dawn's Big Date....then she'd not feel fulfilled enough, and steal scatterbrained Sharon's credit card to fly back to California for a night and come back before she is missed
Mallory would go stalk another author at an autograph signing (I still can't believe no one picked up on her meeting Amelia Moody on her birthday)
Jessi would go see a Ballet, possibly in Stamford, but she would keep the party small, only going with her parents, becca & charlotte, and Mallory
Logan would be grumbling about working overtime at Casa Grande or wherever the heck he works
Shannon would go to a planetarium and a theatre musical, if not a trip to Paris
Abby would go to an Aretha Franklin concert
