^ That's on my list to read tomorrow. ;D I've only read it once and it was a few years ago. Now I'm looking forward to it even more - just to see who is featured and how. ;D

This book was so great! I really enjoyed it. Jill was really cute.....but when I found that the lady could talk I was shocked! That was scary when the man (I'm sorry, I don't remember the names) found Claudia matching his picture!

^ I liked that part, too. I really liked the whole scene when the lights go off and they're alone with the kids and the people (can't remember their names either ;D) This is definitely my favorite Super Mystery. Well, actually I'm not sure on that now since I just read and really liked Beware and Christmas Chiller..... ;D

I loved this one, too, but I if I had been a Menders kid, I would have been THRILLED to move to a mansion in a little historical town!

I would have been happy in some ways but after thinking about all of the sacrifices it required (basically their whole old life) and fear of the changes would have made me a bit reluctant, too. It did sound like an awesome house, though, and I'd always go for living in a mansion. ;D

I finally found this book! It was wedged behind some books on the top shelf of Goodwill. I only found it because I saw the edge adn was like... "hmm, the looks to be about the size and shape of a BSC book. It's probably one I have, but I might as well look" And then it was this one! Which I haven't read yet and puts me one step closer to having my collection complete! Yay!. Oh, so the book: 1) I HATE when they introduce large families. For some reason I usually end up going back several times to figure out how old everyone is. Why couldn't they have just moved an existing family away from the brook so that I didn't have to think so hard. 2.) I thought for sure that someone would be in LUV with Lionel, the oldest boy. I mean, he's 14. That's the same age as Sam. 3.) Speaking of Sam, he rides a unicycle! Dork. 4.) The whole way Georgio was like "You're 16, right" totally reminded me of creepy college boys I used to hang out with when I was 16/17. Most of them kind of threw that out there, trying to make sure they weren't haning out with "jailbait". SO creepy. 5.) This book was actually creepy. 6.) Mallory is a spaz and I hate that she actually made me feel bad for Logan. 7.) Why is Andrew better at handwriting, spelling, and grammar than Claudia? 8.) Andrew is so going to grow up and hang out on his sailboat. 9.) The girl with the crush on Dawn was really cute until she got annoying 10.) I hate how the super specials have the handwritten letters in the back. 11.) I'm surprised the thing where Claudia lied about her age didn't blow up in her face. What kind of message does that send to young girls? 12.) THEY TREATED THE 14 YEAR OLD LIKE A CLIENT. 13.) What 14 year old boy voluntarily wears white linen pants and a beige polo?

I remember a guy I was in class once with was 24 and going out with an 18 year old and all of us made fun of him for it. She was at least out of HS though. (He always defended it by that) Ohh thats harsh. I'm 19 (20 this month) and my boyfriend just turned 26. I don't really see the big deal if you're both out of high school. However, 19 and 13- no way. 19 and 16 is kinda ehh. Frankly, I think Georgio is creepy more based on how he talked and especially that last letter. All full of 'i love you's anf rose petals from 'their' rose garden. Dude, it was 10 days.

All guys in BSC write "I love you" in their letters and postcards I guess. No epilogue is complete without them.

I love this book.
I liked seeing Claudia and Dawn rooming/doing many things together and Kristy and MA doing the same. It wasn't all Dawn/MA.
Spooky really does sound spooky. All he does is get trapped in the dumbwaiter, run up to the fourth floor, and jump on people's beds and hiss at them.
I'm trying to cut Georgio some slack, I mean, he was concerned for everyone's safety right off the bat because of his connection to the house. But he was so pushy and obvious...blatantly checking out Claudia, coming over and inviting her to his grandparents' place, inviting himself to go see Dracula with them. And his letter at the end: "I can't wait until you come for homecoming weekend, but let's get together before then." Dude...settle down.
After Kristy and Mary Anne first see the white figure/Mrs. Cooper on the widow's walk, they burst into the house, scared as can be. Elton asks them "What's wrong, girls? You look like you've seen a ghost." That's just cruel.
The story Elton tells everyone about First Catch being rescued by a ghost ship kinda freaked me out.
The fancy dinner everyone dresses up for sounded awesome!
Mrs. Prezzioso wants a sitter for Celebrate America Day for Jenny, Andrea, and her two nephews. Mal and Jessi tell her there are no sitters available and she says "but I thought the point of the club was that there should be. I've very disappointed." OMG shut up Mrs. P. I don't know if she means she's working a booth or she needs someone to take the kids to the fair. That's an unfair thing to say to the two junior members; that day is busy for ALL of Stoneybrook.

I am pretty sure that this is my first time reading this Super Mystery (I don't remember reading it when I was a kid. I had almost the entire series except for a few books and I think that this was one of them).
The whole idea is a bit ridiculous - the Babysitters Club *stumbles* upon another mystery. That's basically it. It was entirely set up for them (the Coopers' existence, that is, and them wanting to scare the Mendeses).
I read someone's comment above about how Claudia, being 13, and Georgio, being 19, was odd to put into a BSC book for Grade 4-level. I AGREE! Unless they are trying to appeal to young girls who have romantic crushes on older boys (I am not a girl), then I don't get it.
Karen is a bossy b*tch. Calm down.

i feel like this type of plot is ALWAYS recycled. someone else wants a house/piece of property/whatever, so they try to pretend to be "ghosts" to scare away the current owners or inheritors. this has to be done SO many times in nancy drew, and i'm sure there are other BSC mysteries where it happens that i just can't think of right now. but seriously, now every time i read a ghost mystery i'm like "it's not a ghost, someone else wants the house, mystery solved". for heaven's sake.

I love this book, but it does remind me of Scooby Doo The Coopers would've gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids!

i feel like this type of plot is ALWAYS recycled. someone else wants a house/piece of property/whatever, so they try to pretend to be "ghosts" to scare away the current owners or inheritors. Ha ha, yes, that plot has DEFINITELY been done to death in children's media! This is actually my favorite BSC book (because I loved loved loved the idea of a large, old, haunted mansion, especially on the beach in Maine, when I was a child), and when I just reread the book last week, I realized that this book has the same exact plot of one of my other favorite childhood books, Barbie and the Phantom of Shrieking Pond (yes, I know it's laughable that one of my favorite books was a Barbie chapter book, but seriously, I LOVED that book). After I read Baby-sitters' Haunted House last week, I was amused to realize that the books had the exact same "someone inherits a large, old mansion from a deceased relative, but then they don't want the mansion because it's haunted by a terrorizing ghost, but then the ghost turns out to be a long lost relative who just wanted the house for him/herself" plot. Also, why on earth does AMM include such obscure candy references? She (or the ghostwriter) sure seems to like to mention what kind of candy is in Claud's room, but the candy is usually some brand that was popular 30 years ago that no one now (or in the 80s/90s BSC days) has ever heard of. She talks about Jessi and Mal eating Chuckle Rings, which really sounded weird to me. I found a picture of Chuckle Rings which makes the scene in the book in which they're discussed make a lot more sense than what I had envsioned in my head.
