Almost finished this one and wanted to get some discussion started about it. I didn't get the overcompensating-gay-boy vibe from this one like Logan Bruno, Boy Baby-sitter and I liked the brief but sweet interaction with the Bruno family (it's nice to see a happy nuclear family in Stoneybrook!) ... also, I like the Hobart boys, they seem like nice kids. Although maybe I just like the fact that they're Aussie!
I was shocked to see Logan descibe Claudia as sexy though (of course, with his little disclaimer about how he's not attracted to any of the other girls, he's just describing them).

I love this book! One of my favorite parts is in the first chapter, where he's talking about Mary Anne. *sigh* I always thought that was so romantic of him. (so I'm a hopeless romantic) The whole 'Claudia/sexy' thing was funny. I've always wondered what Mary Anne would have thought about that if she could have heard him call her that. Geni

I love it when Logan talks about Mary Anne! He's the sweetest boyfriend ever.
This was the book where Logan has to replace Dawn for a few weeks, right? And there's a fair?

Yes.. This is the book where Jeff's appendix burst and Dawn had to go over there and he replaced her. And then King and the other guys on the football team found out. And one of the Hobart boys (Jonnny??) got lost and King found him. Geni

I'm reading this book right now and here's a quote: "some guys think that girls are a form of human asparagus. You know, keep away at all costs." And wasn't he referring to the football players? This was in contrast to my middle and high school days, where most of the guys on sports teams were pervs. A couple of them would walk by me during school and slap me on my butt, man how rude, at least unpleasant.

Yes they do that here......but in Stoneybrook, the guys totally respect girls.

The adolescents of Stoneybrook don't seem to have the sudden surge of hormones that real life teenage males are bombarded with. Where's the testosterone?

Maybe Stoneybrook is doing experiments or something on them. Or maybe they just lack testosterone because they've been brainwashed that if they do have it, they'll grow up to have a bunch of monster kids or just too many kids, like the pikes.

Maybe Stoneybrook is doing experiments or something on them. Blasted mutant kids! Logan: "some of you guys may be getting phone calls from them (track team guys). Claudia: "Lew Greenberg. Really handsome with dimples?" Logan: "Yeah." Claudia: "Really!" Logan: basically was saying Lew really liked her. Claudia: "Really!!!" How much Claudia is desperate for boys seems so pathetic to me. Ugh.

Another thing, if they were stuffed up with too much business, especially since they recently were losing a member for a brief period, then why were they setting up a booth to attract new clients?

She did the same thing in No. 10, whenever they advertised for new clients and got way too many. Of course, that's where Logan comes into the picture anyway. But their problem wasn't with missing a member...they just had 5 memembers and an overflow of new clients.

I always thought it was a little selfish of the girls in this book, to rely on Logan so much. I mean, they had been with 6 members before. Taking more jobs, O.K., but why did he have to attend the meetings? Poor guy.
