You know what I think would have been neat? If instead of doing "Logan's Story" and "Logan Bruno, Boy Baby-Sitter", they had written a portrait collection book about him. I think it would have been really neat to have seen Logan talk about growing up and why he liked baby-sitting and all that instead of doing the whole 'Logan's a boy baby-sitter--the guys will make fun of him' kind of thing.
Yeah. I hope that makes sense. I've been working on organic chemistry all morning.

I agree-it would be fun to have a portriat collection of him. But I like reading it from a guy's point of view. It's funny the kinds of things that are said when a guy's telling the story instead of a girl.

I can imagine that had to be a little awkward sometimes. It's hard to talk "girl talk" with a guy in the room.

It is...even my sister and I notice when we have some of our guy friends over, we have to make sure our rooms are okay. Nothings more awkward than having your bra hanging over your chair when a guy comes into your room!

I think it's something you get over. There isn't anything I can't say to a guy friend that I would say to a girl friend. Actually, all of my really close friends are guys. So are my roommates. I even had one of my guy friends come and translate when I had to go to the gynecologist, although he didn't see the exam part of course.

Well, that story is from when I was, like 12, so it was a big deal to me. But we moved and now I don't have any close guy friends that live near enough to me so that I have to worry if my room looks okay. In fact, since we've moved, one guy has seen my room.

In this book we have another example of Mary Anne making a passing reference to her mother, who is apparently alive and kickin':
Page 55:
I usually overlook these "errors" from Mary Anne's mouth, because I think it’s easy to assume she could be talking about Sharon and is just taking a verbal shortcut or something. But I can’t really explain away this one, considering that the whole plot of this book is based around Dawn and Sharon being in California, so that’s definitely not Sharon that Mary Anne is referring to.

I loved this book! It totally reminded me of Happy Days, and I love the part where they give him his own leather jacket, with "Bruno" embrodered on it. I also thought this book was great because you really got to know Logan and see a side of him not talked about in other books. I wish there were more Logan books like this!

I was skimming through this book today, and this part made me laugh and laugh:
Hee hee hee.
I think most of the female BSC members would have been horrified by that. Imagine if Johnny had said it in front of Dawn!

I really liked this book. Logan sounded like a pretty great boyfriend. That stuff he said about MA's smile was very sweet (unrealistically romantic, but sweet) and he seemed to see her in such a positive light.
I liked reading the boy perspective. The Hobart boys sound really cute and realistically little boyish. There were so many lines that I read and could easily here coming out of my 8 year old boy cousin's mouth. For once, it was probably a big plus that Peter Lerangis was the ghostwriter.

Early Logan sounded (he still does) like an awesome boyfriend. I really liked the Hobart boys, too. I wish we had gotten to read more about them and their family. I never cared for how most Hobart descriptions=their accents and that was that.

^True, they always have to do some line about how so-and-so said "hoi" instead of "hi" or in Logan's case, point out how he says "Luevulle." I guess the phonetics help people who don't know how specific accents sound, but the tend to use the same examples every time. It gets as repetitive as any chapter two...

Imagine if Johnny had said it in front of Dawn! That is hilarious! I'd forgotten about that. Dawn would have subjected Johnny to a lecture about weapons and violence, I'm sure. And maybe throw in a vegetarian rant.
