After Abby's Book, this is my favorite Portrait. I really love reading about MA's relationship with her dad and Richard seems like such a good, loving father. He doesn't seem that "strict", just kind of straight laced and serious but that's his personality.

^I absolutely love MA's relationship with her dad too. I got to see more of Richard's fatherly love in this pc. He's definitely a wonderful dad. And I think no one disagrees with me. I loved the end of the chapter,'Tea Party' when he said that he loves MA more than life itself while hugging her. I absolutely love their moments here. They were very touching. This pc brought a lot of tears to my eyes. Richard's definitely the best father in the BSC books, for me. I absolutely love his moments with MA in the BSC books.

Richard is nice-looking in the illustrations of him with MA when she's very little and at her tea party. Because he has hair haha I'm not a fan of his pic in Mary Anne's scrapbook. He's definitely a wonderful dad. And I think no one disagrees with me. Well, there may be some who disagree with you.

My dad just read this one (he needed a book and this is what I gave him ;D He does like learning about the BSC, though, so he knows what I'm talking about and actually thinks the books are good ;D) and loved it. He thought Richard was a great dad and really liked how he let MA go home from the recital (I liked that, too) He also admitted that he teared up during the last chapter when MA talked about her mom with her grandma. We were also talking about how we think it's pretty bad that MA's grandparents didn't want to give her back when Richard was ready. Understand that they wanted her too but as dad pointed out (and I agree ;D), it almost seemed like they wanted a surrogate daughter. If they loved MA so unconditionally, why didn't they stay involved in her life? I don't know....

I like to forget that picture in Mary Anne's scrapbook even exists. ;D I picture Richard and Sharon the way they looked on the cover of Dawn's Family Feud.

I totally agree with everything you said. It was such a sweet book, and I really liked reading all the nice moments between Mary Anne and her dad. I really liked the tea party story too - it was so sad and sweet. I also liked in the glasses story, when she and Richard go and get ice cream while she's waiting for her new glasses. It was such a cute moment, for some reason.

I liked the picture of Mary Anne's mom. She looked really pretty; I thought it was M.A. at first.
I thought the Iowa stuff was really boring. I wanted to hear more about Mary Anne and that guy she dated and why she ended up dating him in the first place when Logan was waiting back home, not some boring stuff about sewing and quilting and country fairs or whatever.
I liked the ballet chapter and thought richard seemed like such a great dad. I want to mate with him ;D Kristy would have driven me crazy if I lived by her. I mean, I probably would have pushed her in the mud or something, because her personality just sort of grates on me with her "i like sports. sports, sports, sports." We know. The point has been driven in with an anvil.
