Wait when is Stacey's b-day? I thought it was 4/20. Nope, April 20 is Hitler's birthday, not Stacey's. And it's also my cousin's birthday.

I am another one who liked Abby better after reading her portrait. I think it gave us a little more insight of her personality.

The part about their 1st grade teacher having them dress in different colors, ticked me off though.

The part about their 1st grade teacher having them dress in different colors, ticked me off though. Funny, I was just thinking about how annoying that was. I've gone to school with a couple of sets of twins, and they were always separated, first of all, to encourange independence, and even in the case of identical twin girls who wore friggin identical school uniforms, the teachers sucked it up and learned which one was which. Sheesh. Anyway, I always figured Abby dressed like a tomboy and Anna dressed more girlishly, and their personalities were vastly different. How hard could it have been to tell them apart?

^I agree. Their personalities are complete opposites, it really shouldn't have been that difficult. Even people who couldn't tell me and my sister apart by looking at us, knew exactly who was who when we opened our mouths! (she was the nice one, I was the mean one, lol. I think I was much more Abbyish). Anyway I really like Abby and I'm wondering if maybe it's cause I never read her books as a kid, I think a lot of people resented her for coming into the series but I never had that experience so I think she's pretty cool

I never resented her for coming into the series because by the time I started reading about Abby, Dawn was no longer my favorite but actually one of my least favorites. Abby's humor just isn't my style and I don't have that much in common with her, so she is one of my least favorites. I don't mind her too much, though, and really liked this book. It gave me new insight into her and new appreciation for her (just don't read it right after having a big fight with your dad - I immediately went and apologized after reading about Abby's dad, which I found really sad but liked reading).

I just read this one, and I have to admit, I was very reluctant to. I don't know why, but I expected a book full of "talkind like dis because ob allerdies". But I really enjoyed it and Abby. I have a new found respect for her, and I no longer resent "cousin oliver"

I read this one first so that I could get to know Abby before I read about her in any regular books and it really helped me accept her.

^ I should have done that as I got a bad first impression of Abby but liked her much better after reading this one. I really liked this Portrait and think it was one of my favorites. What "grade" did she get?

Re reading this one I think it is one of my favorite portrait collections. I liked seeing more of Abby's serious side, it defiantly provided me with some more insight to her life. I actually like reading a lot of Abby's more emotional serious moments for some reason.

I liked this one even more the second time I read it. Only bad thing is it makes me sad in the part about Abby's dad and I get a strong urge to go hug my own dad (he enjoys it when I read this book because I'm always nice to him afterwards ;D) Agree with everything msstock said. I felt like I got some insight into Abby's parents this time, too, and had a bit more sympathy for her mom, though I felt for the girls. I really liked reading the part about Abby coming to Stoneybrook because after reading Dirty Diapers, it was interesting to read about Abby and Kristy's first encounters from Abby's perspective. I really wish they would have developed Anna and Kristy's friendship. I see a lot of differences there, which would have just made it more interesting. I think this is my favorite of all the portraits and definitely my favorite Abby book.
