^ I could have "taken care" of pre-controlling Logan pretty quickly, I think, and probably would have ended up controlling him. ;D As for this book, I can't remember anymore why MA searched the attic. Was she looking for stuff about her mom? Also, did she even know her grandparents existed? I can't remember.
I thought maybe that MA had actually been adopted and those were her orignal parents in the photos. Until I found out it was her grandparents. I wondered why her dad deprived her of seeing her grandparents all these years? I thought this was neat, you actually get to "see" th history behind her life. I had only read books where it was her and her dad.
^ Maybe there was something about Richard back then?? Sharon's parents move their daughter all of the way to California to get her away from him, and then the grandparents were trying to get custody of her. ;D

I thought it was awfully selfish of Mary Anne's grandparents to try to keep her. I mean, here was Richard, just grieving over the death of his wife. He sends his baby away to live with her grandparents, because he just can't handle looking after her. But suddenly, he begins to heal, and he's all alone. All he wants is his baby back, but they won't give her up. I mean, I know that they were grieving too, over the loss of their daughter, but they should have realized that her rightful place was with her father, so that he wouldn't be completely alone. I would think that having Mary Anne around would bring Richard some sense of peace, like he still has a little piece of Alma with him. I guess they realized that after, though. (Please bear in mind that I've never read MA's book and it's been forever and a day since I read this one, so I can't really remember any details of the custody battle).
Edit: I forgot to mention that I also think Mary Anne looks really pretty on the covers, and very Mary Anne-like, if you know what I mean ;D

^ I always thought it was weird that NONE of them ever heard anything about it, especially when there didn't seem to be any sort of plot to keep it a secret. Didn't Kristy's mom say she'd forgotten about it when Kristy asked her?
