Maybe it was just me, but I just tried reading Mary Anne's Portrait and had to put it down. It was just too boring! I have been a BSC fan since '86, but I just can't seem to get into the Portrait books. I can't figure it out, maybe it was because she didn't write most of these books? Or maybe it was because it was more like a diary? I don't know....

I've only read Stacey's Portrait, but I loved it. I liked seeing her life pre-BSC. Don't know what I would think of the others; I need to get around to reading those someday.

Love them. The portraits did seem more "serious" than the regular books, but I found them all interesting.

I agree that some parts were boring in the portraits. I don't usually reread them. But more than being boring, it was the inconsistencies that bugged me about the portraits. I loved Abby's, though, because it was really touching.

I haven't read any of them yet, but I have the feeling that I'm not going to like them much. They sound like the Baby-sitters Remember SS, and I was really bored by that one.

Thanks Startlett, maybe I'll read Abby's. I am glad to hear someone else found them kinda boring.

When I first read Abby's, I thought it was the most boring of them all, because she was the last member of the club and not really connected to Stoneybrook and everything. But over the years I've grown to like it.

I actually liked all the Portrait Collection books, and wasn't too bored by them. I liked Abby's because it gave me more insight into her life when I really didn't know her that well. I also liked Kristy's a lot because I liked reading about the Thomas kids and Mary Anne and Claudia growing up.

I found that Mary Anne's and Claudia's portrait boring. Stacey's more intresting and Dawn's divorce parts seem to be the most intriguing. I'll have to read Abby's and Kristy's again. It seems like the Bradford Triangle are the more borng portratis.

I loved them all, some of my favourite BSC books. I loved them all too, especially MA's and Abby's, they were my two favorites ;D. I also got the chance to read Stacey, Claudia, and Dawn's books last year and they were great too. The only one I found really boring was Kristy's. I liked the beginning of her book but from there it just went into storylines that we already knew before reading the book. I also liked the Portrait books because I love reading about flashbacks and past memories and things like that. That was one of the reasons I liked The Baby-Sitters Remember SS too, because we got to read about everyone's lives before the BSC.

i loved stacey and abby's the best, i think. i agree with the bradford court girls being slightly boring-- stacey and abby didn't grow up in the brook, so it's cool to see the before life. i never read dawn's, i don't think... i read stacey's over and over again though. love the dance class, and i was always fascinated with her and laine being so "sophisticated"

^ I loved Stacey and Laine too. I think I agree with Andrea though, Kristy's was kinda boring toward the end.

I've never read a Portrait book yet. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll come across one in Book Sale or Books for Less someday.
