I'm rereading and so far, liking Mal and Jessi's chapters best, especially about the pageant. I always want to read about the BSC doing the Christmas pageant. Also enjoying the NYC chapters but not the robbery chapters as much. I'll see what I think when I finish, though. This one does seem quite creepy so far, especially the thing with the Jack in the Box and the blood in the Stacey chapters.

Yeah, Stacey's chapters are really creepy. Often when I'm waiting for the subway in NYC i think about how stacey was pushed.

I think the basement scene in this book creeped me out the most, although Stacey and Claudia's mystery was the one I liked least in this book.

One thing I'm really enjoying about this book is the Pike kids' and family's interaction. The Christmas program practice scenes with Claire and her stuffed lamb have me laughing. ;D I also like the whole idea of helping people like the pregnant lady so that's probably why Mal's story appeals the most to me. I'm not sure why I can't get into Kristy's much.

Just finished this one and liked it a lot. The basement scene was definitely creepy – I think one of the scariest in the BSC. Maybe that was just because it was so fitting to be reading about the blizzard and the power going off when ours was flickering and the wind was hitting our house in gusts of 65 mph last night. ;D I actually ended up liking the robbery chapters, too, especially how the Thomas-Brewers set the guy up and were at the Stevensons.

I love the creepy Stacey and Claudia chapters. I'll have to reread this one soon...I have my holiday-themed BSC books I want to read, but can never find the time!

I liked this one, believe it our not. ( I had NEVER heard of this one, until I saw it on amazon) Because it seemed like for once, the girls where actually involved in the mystery themselves, they weren't just solving it! Mary Anne looked very "tom boyish" on the cover, I know she did away with her dresses, but give me a break! But, I'll admit, the book was kinda boring at times. There have been BETTER BSC Mysteries!

I really liked this book, although the New York chapters were kinda freaky. I loved that Ann incorperated a Christmas theme...it shows that they believe in a religion.

Or not. Lots of people celebrate Christmas for nostalgic/traditional/fun/secular reasons.

I thought it was funny that the Pike triplets were the three wisemen, but I don't remember much else about this book because it's been a while since I've read it.

I liked the Pike family chapters the best. I had to laugh when somebody stepped on Baba, Claire's stuffed lamb, and said, "Lambchops!" That was so wrong but still funny. I also liked the plotline with Mary Doe/Lisa and how Mal's family took her under their wings. That was very sweet.

I read this one for the first time in many years, and a few things struck me. Immediate thoughts:
The cover: Mary Anne looks like a guy. It also looks like she's doing The Robot.
The mysteries: I'm not a big fan of the mysteries, but the NY chapters were nice and creepy. But WHY did they all decide to go into the basement? It's the perfect setup for any bad horror movie.
Misc. thoughts: Sharon just got a Subaru Outback. It is better than most SUVs, but it's not your most fuel-efficient car, so I'm surprised her environmentally aware daughter didn't give her hell about buying one.
Mallory and Jessi sneak horse facts into the notebook. I can see it now. "Charlotte Johanssen has chestnut-colored hair. The same color the horse in A Morgan for Melinda has." LOL.
