The BSC had enough sleepovers that I thought we could discuss our favorite scenes from them.
I always loved the sleepover at Claudia's house in Welcome Back, Stacey. It was a nice little BSC reunion. I liked that there weren't any wacky hijinks at this sleepover; they just talked and hung out. I also liked that Kristy had a bunch of Emily pictures to show Stacey.
I also liked the sleepover in Dawn's Big Date. A New Year's sleepover sounds fun! Wasn't this also the one where Stacey brought with her a copy of "Cam Geary Sings" and everyone except Mary Anne thought it was terrible?

^Haha, yes. I love the New Year's sleepover.
I always liked the one in Kristy and the Haunted Mansion, when Kristy wakes up and finds Claudia and Stacey had given each other makeovers in their pajamas. I like the one in Worst Kid Ever where Claudia gives HER a makeover. And Ghost at Dawn's House, when they had their last sleepover of the summer.

I love the sleepover scenes too! Sleepovers from when I was around that age are among some of my happiest and most cozy memories, which might be why I like these scenes so much. In general, I like most of the scenes where the girls just do normal teenage friend stuff, like going to Pizza Express. Some scenes I like: -the end of summer sleepover in The Ghost at Dawn's House. I think I like this one because they each choose a movie to watch (Kristy - Ghostbusters, Mary Anne - Sixteen Candles, Claudia - Star Wars, Stacey - Mary Poppins, Dawn - The Parent Trap) -the New Year's sleepover in Dawn's Big Date - I like Mary Anne and Dawn preparing lots of food; Stacey bringing the Cam Geary Sings album, and the girls all talking about Boys -in Kristy and the Haunted Mansion, when the sitters all spend the night at Claudia's because they want each other's company since they're all worried about Kristy, and they write notes for Kristy to read when she gets back

What a great idea for a thread Candykane. The most positive sleepover memories I have are when I spent the night at my friend Gigi's (that was her nickname) house in 3rd grade. Her parents were so kind and it felt so wonderful to be part of a family, if even on the outside of sorts, where both parents were truly good people and cared so much about their daughters. I didn't always have that in my own life so being able to see that was possible was a good thing. Anyway, at that time both Gigi and I enjoyed watching He-Man. Gigi had a giant green stuffed something or another that we would pretend was Cringer or Battlecat. When the lights were out we would tell each other "He-Man" stories I must have always liked imaging extra details to a favorite story (like talking about what ifs and extras on here or fanfic). Mostly we'd just talk. I will always wish Gigi and I had kept better in touch but I'm grateful for those good memories. Back to the BSC, I also loved how the sitters wrote notes for Kristy in "Haunted Mansion." I love how Claudia tells Kristy in her note that she has saved practically a whole bowl of popcorn for her. That was sweet. I also liked the surprise in Karen's Baby when the three musketeers are given a few baby tips by the BSC (both groups had sleepovers on the same night at the big house). It was nice how Kristy and the others took a few minutes to include Karen and her friends. Of course, I will always love the sleepover in KGI. That was the first and also one of the only with just the 4 original members, I wish there had been more. Candykane, ITA with what you said, "I liked that there weren't any wacky hijinks at this sleepover; they just talked and hung out." As most of you know I'm not much into the girls various fights or their encounters with cat burglars. It is welcoming to read about them simply being friends. On that note, I'll hit reply, after saying I'm glad all of us on here are friends, too.

Thought of another...the sleepover in in Stacey's Mistake, when they're all finally comfortable together and laughing late at night but have to be quiet for Stacey's parents. You think if they did the movie-choosing later in the series Kristy would pick a sports flick and Mary Anne would pick a tearjerker? Stacey's and Dawn's might stay the same, not sure what Claudia might choose...

I'm having a hard time coming up with a movie Claudia would choose. I always thought Star Wars was a weird choice for her in Ghost at Dawn's House, as if Ann couldn't think of anything else so she was just like, "Hmmm... I'll have her say Star Wars! That sounds current enough!"

I like the sleepovers in both "The Ghost at Dawn's House and "Dawn's Big Date" since those are two of my favorite books in the whole series. The one in "Dawn and the Older Boy" comes to mind, too, although I never understood how they could all stand to sleep in their makeup! Also, why are all my favorite sleepover scenes from Dawn books?!?

^ I think the sleepover from TGADH was especially good since it was from Dawn's perspective, and she was the newest member, and it kind of brought all of the five sitters together in a non babysitting or school activity. Does that make any sense!?

Well, the only thing that I could think of was when Claudia chose "babies in space" as her suggestion for the baby float, so maybe she likes things that take place in space? Or maybe she likes some of the costumes in those movies?

I'm glad that their movie choices in The Ghost at Dawn's House weren't the stereotypical choices (Kristy wants a sports movie! Claudia wants a movie about an artist!) because IRL people don't make EVERY single choice based on a single interest, like sports. I also like the sleepover in The Baby-sitters Remember. I like how casual and summery it feels (Mal shows up barefoot, Claudia shows up wearing a bikini top). It makes them feel more like real-life middle schoolers.

^. I like the one in Worst Kid Ever where Claudia gives HER a makeover. . I loved that Kristy went to go wash off the makeup when no one was looking and decided that she'd say it all came off in the pillow fight, if anyone happened to notice. That would have to be a pretty hard pillow smack to the face to wipe off a bunch of makeup, lol.

Of course, Karen's Sleepover is all about the sleepover itself!

I also really like the sleepover in Kristy's Great Idea...it's simple and shows the girls becoming closer, and I loved that they planned to have a monthly sleepover (but was disappointed they didn't keep up with that in the series).
Funny thing about this scene - remember how they hear something at the window? When reading this book when I was little, I was convinced the noise was either one of two things: 1. Sam was at the window spying on Stacey (Stacey was my favorite sitter and I loved the Stacey/Sam pairing. At that age, I thought it was totally romantic and not creepy for a guy to be spying on her outside the window.) 2. It was foreshadowing to the next book (the Phantom Phone Caller was spying on them)
I guess I became convinced I was right, because I think it got ingrained in my memory and then when I reread the book as adult, I was like "Wait, neither of those things actually happened?" lol.

What an awesome topic! Here are my favourite moments
1)When Dawn was trying on some orange makeup in Dawn's Big Date (or was it Dawn and the Older Boy?)
2)In Dawn's Big Date when the triplets who were sleeping over cause of Jeff being in town played a joke on the BSC with their waterguns and Mallory got mad at them
3) When Karen and her friends made the Ricky cookie, Nancy was mean to Pamela about the sleeping bag and Sam scared them with the mask
4) When Kristy threw the last minute sleepover in Mary Anne's Bad Luck Mystery and how things turned out good in the end
5) I also agree the Stacey's Mistake one was nice when they were catching up
6) Though it's sad how they were stuck on the Island in Baby Sitters Island Adventure, reading about how creative Claudia, Dawn and the kids had to be for survival was interesting, although I still think it's so stupid and unrealistic of Jamie Newton at 4 going and Becca who's parents were out of town going like that.
7) Kristy, Mary Anne and Claudia's sleepover at the end of the Baby Sitters Remember when they were in grade 3 and how the baby sitter they pranked turned out to have a sense of humour
8) Stacey's Ex Best Friend when Laine was being a pest, it was mildly amusing
