What an awesome topic! Here are my favourite moments 1)When Dawn was trying on some orange makeup in Dawn's Big Date (or was it Dawn and the Older Boy?) I know it wasn't "Big Date," so I'm guessing it was "Older Boy." You guys are reminding me of all sorts of other great sleepover scenes! I've been all about the mall trips and boyfriend stuff for so long that I overlooked this whole other facet of BSC life.

Yeah you're right, it was just before she met Travis the Terror
Other sleepovers I forgot to mention:
The one Karen had with Tia in Karen's Plane Trip. I like how the next day they had a vegetable sale after Karen had a dream from sleeping in the hammock...and Tia and her grandparents were probably humouring her and let her have it
When Mara and Stacey had one at Blueberry Hill, I thought it was brave they could sleep out there

I think the one in Poor Mallory! is cute. I like Mr. Pike bringing them sandwiches from a shop instead of ordering their usual pizza, and the triplets shooting them with slime guns.
I also like the one at the end of Kristy's Mystery Admirer where they are discussing the details of the dance that Kristy and Bart wore the lobster costumes to. I also actually like the sleepover in the school gym with all the little kids in Dawn's Big Sleepover, which is hands down my favorite Dawn book. Oh, I also like the beginning of Dawn's Big Date where Dawn has a New Year's Eve sleepover and they call boys and Kristy yells "Happy New Year, Bart-man!" and hangs up on Bart and Dawn hangs up a 1979 New Year's banner.

The Poor Mallory one definitely is cute. Didn't Mal feel important hosting it? There's also the one at the end of Bad Luck Mystery where Mary Anne is playing with Claudia's compact and breaks the mirror. I always imagined it being cooler/fancier than your usual compact and Claudia getting pissed about it (we're not shown her reaction). And I first typed "Bad Lucy Mystery"

In AMM's letter in the back of the new cover version of Dawn's Big Sleepover, she says that she and her friends loved to have sleepovers when she was little, and they would plan to have a sleepover every time that Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds was playing on TV, so they could watch it together. I thought that was cute.

Of course, Karen's Sleepover is all about the sleepover itself! I think that's probably my favorite Karen book. Dawn and the Big Sleepover - I liked that one for the games they played, the story reading they did before the kids went to sleep, and the breakfast the next morning. Like supprazz, I also liked the sleepover that Stacey and Mara had on Blueberry hill. I remember they had all sorts of good food, including roasted corn on the cob - yum! Sleeping outside without a tent could be fun, as long as there weren't hordes of mosquitoes. Thought of another - Stacey and Laine in Truth About Stacey. It was a sleepover of sorts, when they finally made up and stayed up until 2:30 AM talking.

Aw thanks, I'd actually forgot about the corn on the cob, my mind was on the blueberries, lobster and fish the whole time, how the two families had shared a dinner together after Stacey's dad broke his foot
In Dawn and the big sleepover, I liked the part where they got excited for pizza, won the prizes and, read the books before bedtime and of course, breakfast.
Karen's Sleepover is definitely one of the best ones in the series, I think that's the book where it set the blueprint for the rest of the series

If they did the movie-choosing later in the series Kristy would pick a sports flick and Mary Anne would pick a tearjerker? Stacey's and Dawn's might stay the same, not sure what Claudia might choose... For 'now' times, I think MA would choose The Notebook and for any times I see her as a The Sound of Music watcher (but that may be my own personal bias as TSoM is my own all-time favourite movie and I'm totally a Mally Anne), for Krity maybe Trouble with the Curve, Dawn's and Stacey's would definitely stay the same (and funnily enough my favourite Disney/Julie Andrews movie is Mary Poppins) and I don't know about Claudia for 'now' times but always thought Star Wars was an odd choice for her. I'm having a hard time coming up with a movie Claudia would choose. I always thought Star Wars was a weird choice for her in Ghost at Dawn's House, as if Ann couldn't think of anything else so she was just like, "Hmmm... I'll have her say Star Wars! That sounds current enough!" Good point, CandyKane. It's also not current enough (to the time) that it would've been out on video then, too. If Ann wanted one more current to the time of the book she could've chosen Vacation or Spies Like Us; I could see Claud watching them. The Poor Mallory one definitely is cute. Didn't Mal feel important hosting it? Yes, she did! That was my first BSC/first Mallory book and I 've always remembered that. I think that one and Dawn and MA's New Year's Eve party are my faves. Also did anyone else notice that Sharon and Richard are obviously the cool parents? Or at least cooler than Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey? (My reasoning is because they let Jeff and the triplets stay up to see in the New Year when they're 10 years old but Jessi says that she's excited that she gets to celebrate the New Year at midnight this year but that she's been sent to bed before midnight every other year, but that obviously includes the previous year, when she was 10!)

I would agree that Sharon and Richard are definitely cooler (or Richard became cooler because of Sharon ) I think Watson lets Karen and Andrew stay up until midnight in Karen's New Year. The only "art" movie that came to mind was "Pollock." That would be a pretty depressing two hours

I think Claudia is more of a Ferris Bueller's Day Off type of gal, and of course other John Hughes movies like Pretty in Pink thanks to the dress cutting!

My favorites were the one at Kristy's house in Dawn On The Coast and the one in The Baby-Sitters Remember. This doesn't really count, but I also loved when Bart had to sleep over at Kristy's house in Snowbound and Kristy had to get up super early on a snow day to doll herself up for Bart, heaven forbid he see the way she looks first thing in the morning!

I don't think I mentioned Baby Sitters Remember, but yeah I would say that's one of the best Super Specials, I think I re-read that one the most. I loved Claudia, Stacey, Mallory, Shannon and Mary Anne's chapters the best.

Karen's Sleepover. It sounded like it was a lot of fun with the cookies they made, the food fight, the black-out, and them sneaking into the kitchen at midight.
