I really liked the All the Children band, it sounded like so much fun! I like how Charlotte was learning to play the guitar in it and how it pissed Mrs. Lowell off.

Would have been interesting if she continued the guitar though it was really nice reading about her learning piano later on and Stacey's supporting her.

Derek's Goodbye party in Superbrat also sounded really fun The Pet Show in Dance School Phantom, it was really nice to give everyone a prize though they should have thought of that earlier

One of my very favorites is the play group from Claudia and Mean Janine. Louie's bath, the Jenny Prezzioso drama, get-well cards for Mimi...all lots of fun to read about. Plus I always loved the outfit descriptions of what they wore on the first day. Stacey wore a t-shirt with a taxicab on it and Dawn wore stripes and suspenders (sounds like she was dressed for a barbershop quartet, lol).

^Love the play group. Reading about it makes me nostalgic for childhood summers!
I also thought the All the Children concert was pretty cute. Wish Charlotte had kept up the guitar. The piano was more common - Marilyn, Shea, one of the Pike boys, right? - and one kid in Kristy and the Haunted Mansion, his name escapes me right now, who actually sat down at the piano in the Sawyer mansion and played Moonlight Sonata. (!)

^Jordan played the piano and I believe it was Joey who played Moonlight Sonata and Karen told him it was the most beautiful music she ever heard. ITA about Charlotte and wish she had kept it up, too. I think playing an instrument could have helped boost her confidence and give her some fun with friends, too. Supprazz, I also loved the Christmas in July for James, that was so very sweet. I also always smile when Shannon (or was it Abby)? was blown away by the tornado miracle worker that was Kristy. She hadn't been around the BSC much for a while and was shocked to see how Kristy made sure the plans all came together even at the last minute. My favorite event is still the Valentine's Masquerade in Stacey's Ex Best Friend and the Holiday Party in "Stacey and the Mystery of the Empty House," is so sweet, too. I also love the trip to Sudsy's for Jamie's excitement and because it was an early book that really showed how close the girls were to one another and the charges.

Yeah I agree it was a good way for Charlotte to build up confidence, I was so glad to hear Stacey patched up things with her and continued to babysit for her after the falling out with the BSC. That's also why she was my favourite, I may have hated her if she abandoned people who cared about her completely.
zoar I liked reading about the fake snow and the presents they chose and the planning that went into it, kids can be so generous when they have the right influences around them

^I'm not much of a Stacey fan always but agree it was a very good thing she finally remembered Charlotte and what she meant to her. I will always wish we had seen a true version of their being sisters (no almost) in the books. That was fun, too. It's rare we got to read about the kids doing something extra for the sitters. I meant was a Stacey quote, "To see that barn full of kids' happy hopeful faces is something I'll never forget." This was after some of the charges had shared stories of the holidays they celebrated. I loved how they all came together to also be thankful for one another. The only parts of Empty House I will never like is the way Stacey (and Claudia) abandoned Carrot (one of them should have taken him home had they truly been concerned their was a thief in the house) and that Stacey didn't give Charlotte a present back. Charlotte had brought Stacey a small Eiffel Tower pin from Paris. And yes, the mystery was very disappointing, too.
