^ I think so too because they were onto the fact that a ring was operating in Stoneybrook.

Um, how? I said the FBI knew about it and you said they were onto the fact that a ring was operating in Stoneybrook.

^ Uh, what are you talking about? How does it not "make sense" to you? As to the two being different, I can't believe I have to explain it. I'll spell it out. You said that the FBI knew about a serious counterfeit issue (it). I said that the FBI were onto a serious counterfeit issue because they were onto a counterfeit ring. The key difference is ring.

You misunderstood--if the FBI knew what was going on/was involved, it can be inferred that they knew about a ring.

Good point, I forgot it was an FBI tie, just remembered the Secret Service part. I remember thinking it would have been nice if Terry came back later...and he did!

How was I supposed to know what you wanted people to infer?

How was I supposed to know what you wanted people to infer? Logic. Anyway, whatever. Back to the book. Where would you rank David Hawthorne in the pantheon of Stacey boyfriends? I like how he comes back in FF, but he seems kind of dull and nerdy to me. Described as cute, but lacks the pizzazz required of a Stacey Boyfriend.

^ Um, logic? Not really. People would have to be mind readers.

Described as cute, but lacks the pizzazz required of a Stacey Boyfriend. When he revealed his true name I remember not liking it and thinking it sounded dorky. I liked his fake name of Terry Hoyt better! I haven't read the FF where he comes back, so my opinion of him is based only on this book. Seemed polite (the scene where he met Maureen and introduced himself comes to mind) and described many times by Stacey as cute, but otherwise not a whole lot of personality. The lack of personality was probably because he had to be so secretive all the time, though.

The book where he comes back, if you haven't read it, is where he and Kristy and Abby are all randomly on the same team for a debate event in DC. So no Stacey/David reunion. it's kind of bizarre in that it wasn't TOTALLY necessary for it to be him, but it's nice to know what happens to minor characters.

Yeah, for me it's the last name that ruined it. I don't mind the name David, but Hawthorne sounded dorky to me.
Since they brought him back, they should have had him meet up with Stacey again!
