I just want to justify my reading these books at 21, haha!

I'm 31. I still enjoy reading them. I like kids chapter books. Cause, their easier to understand. I do read some adult fiction books.

Yeah, I think it's just a society stereotype which says what types of books "should be" appropriate for a certain age. Who cares! At least we're reading. Just think: it's better than people who don't read or who consider magazines as heavy reading. And I know many of us read tons of other (adult) books too.

I'm 26 and read the series because I'm obssessed with one of the characters: yep, a fictional thirteen year-old.

There's a stupid double standard where kids can read adult books and it's fine or sometimes even encouraged, but if adults read children's books they are looked at funny. I read something once about a librarian who displayed young adult books in the adult section of the library to get people to read things that they wouldn't have given a chance otherwise.

^ It's Mary Anne Spier There's a stupid double standard where kids can read adult books and it's fine or sometimes even encouraged, but if adults read children's books they are looked at funny. I read something once about a librarian who displayed young adult books in the adult section of the library to get people to read things that they wouldn't have given a chance otherwise. ^ That's awesome Sparkly. I kind of think that that's a good idea since people might be embarrassed to go to a children's section and because of that they miss out. Or maybe because a lot of them are about people a lot younger than themselves.

I am 26 and still read these books. They were a huge part of my childhood and it's great to re visit. I am planning a huge re read now that I am all moved into my new place. A great way to break into the new place.

I love that idea MsStock! Good to see so many posts from you again, too. Are you going to be re-reading any particular books? I finally almost have all the LS--I think I just need 6 and would love to once and for all get to read every (non CA Diary, I have no interest in getting those or honestly the Friends Forever which I do have all of but just don't like), BSC and LS book. It's always more fun to read along with another fan.

Probably a better poll would be "when were you born", since people read and reread old threads all the time on this board, haha. If I'd answered this poll when I joined the board, I would have been "early to mid 20s" but now I'm "late 20s to early 30s". I'm guessing a ton of people on this board were born between 1975-1990.

Yup! I was born in 1987, I think a year after the series came out.
