I was considered an advanced reader as well, but I still wanted to read the books I enjoyed.

I am 27 and still read them and photograph the dolls I own. I'm 30 and I'm collecting the BSC books again (should have never given them away!) I'm reading the ones I do have, I'm on book #8. I don't have the dolls or anything like that though. I did used to have the old VHS from the tv show and I had the mystery board game.

I just turned 21 and I still love reading these books and proud of it! Now I do need a reread of all of them.

Some of us read in order and others don't. (I do.)

27 and I am doing a re-read of them right now. I think the books came out the year I born (1986) so Lucy would be my age now. Hard to think of her as my age when I am reading the books. Although it's hard to say how old she really is when they repeated the eighth grade so many times. She didn't start aging until after they graduated.
A lot of people I know would probably think it's weird I am reading these books again, and that I'm also on a discussion forum for them. I only got back into them recently because I found the TV show on Netflix and I watched it. I didn't even know they made a TV series until that moment. After I watched them, I remembered I joined this board I think back in 2008 or 2009 and I decided to revisit and I also decided to start reading the books again. I'm just waiting for Stacey's Emergency to go on Ebook on the 25th. I think four of them go on ebook on Feb 25th but I don't remember which ones are after Stacey's Emergency. A lot of the Super Specials are on ebook that go beyond the first 43 because a couple of them I just read had Robert in it. Stacey was with him in one where they were in Hawaii I think but then she was broken up with in the next. I think it's European Vacation I am reading now, but I haven't for a week because I don't like it even though I'm determined to finish it. I like the earlier Super Specials better than the later ones.

I like to read them in order, when I first re-read them. Now, I just randomly read the BSC or LS books again. It will be like, I don't remember this book. So, I re-read it over again. I'll be like, oh yeah, that what happens in this BSC book. I rarely re-read my other books. Just the kids books. Cause, they don't have many chapters. Not like adult books. they can have like 30 or more chapters, in their books. Anyways, I re-read my favorite books. Or books, I haven't read, in long time, since childhood.

There's a stupid double standard where kids can read adult books and it's fine or sometimes even encouraged, but if adults read children's books they are looked at funny. I read something once about a librarian who displayed young adult books in the adult section of the library to get people to read things that they wouldn't have given a chance otherwise. I totally agree, or grownups watching Disney or any cartoon and it's fine..hence why I didn't listen when I was told I'm too old for them in high school. Anyway, I'm 32 and I still love the fandom in spite of the things worth snarking over.

I really don't know when I will quit reading them, lol. Even if I were to start a family, I would want to read the books with and to my kids as they get older. I think the guys behind the BSC podcast have really done an awesome thing by having in depth (and hilarious) discussions about the series for over a year now, and are bringing longtime fans back to the BSC again. The two of them are like 33 and 38 I think. My sister listens too, but she tells me she can't remember most of the plots. And I'm like yeah, I know EVERY SINGLE THING about this series hahaha.
