After finally getting and reading this one...I think Cary Retlin is going to end up in jail someday. Maybe he'll run into Sean Addison while he's there.

My memory of this book is kind of fuzzy because I haven't read it in a long time. It gets a major thumbs down for having Cary Retlin in it. I can't stand Cary Retlin- that guy is just too cool. I remember his clues as being really lame. In fact, the whole clue game was lame. But the thing that really stands out in my mind is Kristy yelling at Cary for "interfering in a BSC investigation".

Did anyone else notice that they used the same background (lockers, yellow wall with fire hydrant) on the coverart as #60 Mary Anne's Makeover?

I read this book and I thought that Cary Retlin was being such a jerk. Why did he have to be so unfair to Kristy? I'm glad he came to his senses at the end.

I just finished this for the first time. I just wondered why didn't some stranger come by and accidentally see one of the envelopes. I love Normal Hill's contribution to his team's scavenger findings: "leftovers, mashed together." I loved the subplot. I wonder why Karen and Andrew weren't in it. I guess it wasn't their weekend or something. And when they were doing the points thing (deciding how much an item was worth and adding the points) why were other sitters there? I thought that it was only up to Kristy to do that. And I always wondered, who else is part of the Mischief Knights? It just seems like its Cary.

^I always thought Alan was a part of the Mischief Knights. It just seems like something he would want to get involved in.

He and Cary were good friends, so it makes sense. But I feel like Alan would have a hard time keeping things secret.

That's very true too. If that was the case, since Alan would have a hard time keeping the secret, I would imagine Cary would threaten something horrible to Alan and he would be too terrified to even think of letting any information regarding Mischief Knights loose. Just kidding...well, hmm maybe not, Cary is a tough one to figure out.

I read the mystery yesterday so it's mostly fresh in my head.
I loved everything: the clues (I'm a sucker for logic puzzles), the mystery war, even the scavanger hunt.
I did notice a pretty big error: this is June of eigth grade. So why are the older girls, not Jessi and Mallory, make such a huge stink about coming back next year and summer school? It would not have such a huge effect on them, they would go to another school come September!

I liked the mystery. I like the clues that Cary gave to the club. I like how Kristy mocked Cary's eyebrows and how he stole her watch.

Did anyone notice how terrible Kristy looks on the cover? She just looks hideous!
I do think she might want to have Cary over to watch a Mets game and make out. I feel like she dislikes him a little too much if you know what I mean!
I love scavenger hunts and things like that! When I was younger we used to have lock ins and the chaperones would give us scavenger hunts and take us to crazy places like the airport at 2 am. It was always so much fun!

I do think she might want to have Cary over to watch a Mets game and make out. Hahaha I love this. And I've always hated this cover! Jessi looks really mean and Cary would have never gotten away with that outfit at my middle school...someone would have told him to tuck his shirt in as soon as he walked through the door.

^Cary's shirt looks bigger than him! I think the sleeves are the worst part. I'm not a Cary (or Mischief Knight) fan and totally agree with everyone who said how odd it was that the teacher's were contemplating striking at the end of the school year. I do remember when I was in 8th grade, the teachers went on strike either right before or right after my 14th birthday in Mid May. I will always remember that because the Monday following my b-day was when I got Champ. I loved the names of the kids' scavenger teams especially "Klue Krushers," and "Buzzard Bashers." It was fun reading about the hunts and hysterical that Kristy kept all the "loot" from them.
