I apologize if there is already a topic like this, but I couldn't recall one. How did you start reading the series?
At the end of first grade, my mom signed me up for the Collectors' Club through the scholastic book order form thing from school. It was through my brother's Arrow, rather than whatever we had for first grade, so I felt very cool. I remember reading the Truth About Stacey in Disney World right after school got out.

I think there is a thread already like this. But oh well, we can re-hash our memories! My sister, who is a year older than I am, was reading the series before me. I asked to borrow one of her books and she said something along the lines of, "I will let you borrow ONE but you can't get hooked on them because they're MY THING" (in typical older sister fashion, haha!) I told her that story a few years ago and we still laugh about it to this day because she knows how much I love the BSC. The book I first read was "New York, New York"!

My older sister read them. She spent the week at our grandparents' house and brought me back Karen's Witch as a present. (Little Sister had just started.) I guess I got tired of waiting for new Karen books to come out and tried some regular BSC. I have no idea what the first book I read was.

I was at the library with my mom and we were both browsing the children's section. She held up KGI and said "This looks like a good book." From that day on I was hooked.

I know I've talked about my intro a few times, but I'll gladly share it again. My sister is a year older than me and had started reading them, and my mom signed up for the mailing club for her (where she got sent like 3 BSC books a month, in order). I had read a few Little Sister books (I don't particularly remember how I had gotten started on those), and I wanted to read the BSC books because the plots about teenagers sounded so much cooler than Karen's plots, but I was intimidated since the books were longer, had smaller print, no illustrations, etc. But finally, the cover of The Ghost at Dawn's House looked so absolutely enticing that I couldn't resist, and so I finally moved up to the big kid BSC books.

My love affair for The Baby-Sitters Club all started way back around 1994-1995. My sister and cousin were both BSC fans back then and were reading the books. I saw them reading one and was curious about it myself and went to the library where I found a French-Quebec copy of "Mary Anne Saves The Day!". I took it home with me to read it and became a huge fan immediately. When my cousin didn't want her books anymore she gave them all to me included her VHS copy of Baby-Sitters Vs. Boy-Sitters. She doens't have a lot of them.

When I was 9 years old and in the third grade, my mom and I were at McKay's. My mom showed me a copy of Kristy's Great Idea and she told me that she used to read the BSC series when she was a little girl. So I read the book and I was immediately hooked.

Your mom is young enough to have read the BSC as a kid? *head explodes*

My older sister gave me one of her books. Mallory and the trouble of twins. This was after my car accident. Since, I couldn't do anything. Only thing, I could was read, watch tv, (Had someone turn on for me. I'm not sure, if we had the tv on. Cause it was in the corner of the room on night stand.) and sleep. I had be bed ridden for while. Mostly I slept in the hospital bed at home. When, I was awake, I'll read books. When I got better, start collecting BSC & LS books.

My intro was also through my older sister. My mom bought the LS books for me and the BSC books for her, but once I saw how cooler BSC was, I had to read them too

Even though I'm a 90s baby and a 2000s kid, I always liked the 80s-90s stuff. Much better than the junk nowadays...
