^ Yes I have. The one that comes to mind especially is The Birds. In fact, I used to walk home from school sometimes in high-school and would cut through the playground of a French school kind of close to my house. Anyway, when the playground was empty it would be covered with swarms of crows. They would perch on the yellow soccer posts and stare at me while I walked by. It always reminded me of that film.

I liked the part where Abby was spying on Charlie's new girlfriend and how she seemed put-off by much of his behavior. I thought that that was going to lead to Abby catching her cheating/flirting or evidence of it, and that becoming the subplot.
At first, I thought that Morbidda Destiny was going to be the culprit in the book's main plot -- maybe something to do with Karen -- after reading about Druscilla visiting her.
I liked how she spotted Scott Hsu wearing Hercules undrwear.
It struck me funny to see Abby wearing a football jersey on the cover for reason.
And Finch standing full-bodied facing her while she still had the binoculars trained on him seemed weird to me since he was so close to her. Why wouldn't she duck down or something.

There was good consistency with Karen Brewer's storyline at the time (as written in the Little Sister series). I need to watch Rear Window as many of you seem to like it and recommend it. No one has mentioned this yet but I thought it was interesting for Finch to be the embezzler and not the robber. Almost like Scholastic thought that a neighbour murderer, robber (or another more brutal crime) would be too much for young readers to handle. Abby even alludes to the fact that he was the embezzler so he is safer to stalk, haha.

I read this one last night after recently reading about the kids' racing sub plot of Karen's Stepmother. It was cool in this one to get to see various teams of BSC kids building their carts and lol to the Rodowskys and Glory Girls spying, so funny. Loved when Jessi called Mary Anne and demanded to know what "those two boys"--the Rdoowskys) were up to.This was when MA was making them lunch and they snuck off to try and get some building tips from Vanessa, Charlotte, and Becca. I would have enjoyed reading more about their team, with Vanessa in the mix. The main plot, is quite out there. I still enjoy this book because Abby (to me) comes across much more likeable and I do like that we get to see her and Kristy hanging out. Also, Mrs. Stevenson does indeed read more open and caring and even though we didn't get to read about it, to know she and Anna were having fun cooking dinner together made me smile as I think that would be positive for them both. I hope it was.

I actually really enjoyed this one. For some reason I just found it really amusing. It kind of reminded me of The Burbs a little bit.
The mystery is 100% farfetched. There is no way that Abby would notice that her neighbor looks like a guy from a crime/ mystery show and end up being right. Sgt. Johnson's reaction is totally believable. Also, the way Kristy and Abby went about this was totally illegal! Somehow, though, it manages to be entertaining.
The weird thing is, not much happens, but it's not boring. I fully expected it to be so. I think Abby's personality really comes through in this one and I sympathize with her not feeling well (I've been getting constant headaches. So fun). I really like her interaction with Kristy (I actually really like Kristy in this one! Somehow Abby makes her better), and how Kristy went from doubting her to actually going forward with those "errands." It was actually pretty exciting to read about, since I totally thought she'd get caught (I think I only read this once, and it was at least a decade ago. I don't remember anything about it other than bronchitis. Also, I thought bronchitis wasn't contagious).
Apparently Abby and Mary Anne are both classic movie buffs. I kind of like this tidbit and it fits. I imagine Dawn also being one.
For some reason, I just couldn't get that into the subplot. It's not a bad one, I just don't recall anything about it.
Yeah, this one gets a 7.5. I feel like it's an 8.5 on entertainment value, though.
