I like this one but I thought it was mean of Stacey to reject poor Jamie's present. Who does that to a four year old? She actually told him off instead and she should have told him it was sweet of him but let's put them back. Instead of being patronising.
Plus the girls were hypocrites when they teased Claud about her idea of finding clues in her photos but they actually showed up the next day.
This is where it get silly. Kristy actually suspected Logan. That's right Logan. Before that though Claud had the bright idea of calling the cops with their "evidence".
They didn't have any proof throughout the book. It's what you wil call circumstantial evidence.

I read this one very slowly because I've been really busy with Christmas and birthday projects (half the people I know have December birthdays I s2g), and finally managed to finish it today.
I enjoyed it, though, and I liked how determined Claudia was in this book. I think it's one of the better books for her character, and shows she isn't lazy (I really don't think she is lazy at all. School is just simultaneously tough for her and boring, and she'd rather focus her energy on art and baby-sitting, which doesn't sound lazy to me at all. They're both productive. I imagine her making a pretty good living as an adult). I DO agree with Janine for the most part, though... up until the pocketwatch clue, their "evidence" is pretty thin. I also think Sergeant Johnson is crazy and irresponsible for letting the BSC members get so involved in solving a BANK ROBBERY, but I digress.
I love the idea for a photo album for Dawn. It's a brilliant gift idea with a lot of meaning behind it. Also, I really like that Buddy acknowledges that Dawn was very close with the Barrett kids at some point. She does say in the letter on the end that her heart is in Stoneybrook, and let's just say we should take that with a grain of salt lol.
Kristy is nuts for suspecting Logan at all. Wtf Kristy. In the earlier mysteries, some BSCers suspected each other, but the mystery was much smaller scale (I've decided I don't blame Claud for suspecting Stacey a little bit, I just don't love the way she went about it). Suspecting another BSCer of a BANK ROBBERY is just crazy.
I also think Claud is crazy for not calling the police when she thinks Mr. Zibreski was in her house. Obviously she was wrong, it was Janine, but still. If you think you're the only one home and that someone broke in, that definitely merits a call to the police. And she invited Stacey over right afterwards. Yeah... not brilliant. Also, I love Janine, but my god she should've confessed to Claud earlier to ease her mind. I guess I can't blame her for being embarrassed, though.
I might be in the minority on this, but I like the Claud books centered around art. It's cool that she's in her element. Maybe it's because I'm also an artist, but yeah, I never get bored with the descriptions. Then again, I (mostly) like plots involving the Krushers, and I'm not that into sports, especially soft/ baseball (I find them dull to watch irl).
So yeah. I like this one, but I think the mysteries are starting to feel a little ridiculous and that the BSC really shouldn't be involved with real criminals. It's still enjoyable and decently written, though. I skipped a couple mysteries that I remember I didn't care for, and will continue to do so, but I'll definitely read the ones I hadn't read before.
