Appropriate posts

Hi all,

Firstly, Happy New Year for those of you who celebrate it, 2014! This board has been going on 9 years (that can't be right?!) with some of its original members still very active! I think we're all super proud of that.

I just thought this would be a good time to remind everyone, new and old members, about appropriate posting. While some of us have 'known' each other for quite a while, and feel very comfortable being ourselves, we need to remember that this is a public forum, and anyone over the age of 13 can join. Posts should be made with that in mind.

We all love coming here and talking about the BSC and our lives, but I would remind you all to keep conversation friendly, and if you have an issue with someone to please contact me or Booboobrewer instead of being rude or calling a person out publicly. I realise we all have bad days, but we really want to keep this place friendly.

In terms of our off board friendships and communication, I clearly have no authority there. But I would like to remind you that if you have off board friendships with other members, you need to behave appropriately for the sake of the board. I would not like off board exchanges to affect the way members interact here.

I will of course be happy to hear two sides to every story, but if inapprpriate behaviour of a member keeps being reported to me, from multiple sources or from my own investigations, I will warn or ultimately ban members. I have done this before for the good of the board, and will do it again if I need to.

That said, my ultimate aim here isn't to be a nasty person on a power trip. I just want this board to be what it was created to be (and is 99% of the time) - a place for lovers of the BSC to discuss the books in harmony

Also, I didn't mean to call you out in another thread (if it came across like that). I just thought it was odd that you would mention on this board that you were banned from another board. But I know you mean well, love the BSC, and have a lot of enthusiasm to bring. Cheers!

Just an update:

I've had some reports of inappropriate fanfics being posted in Mary Anne's journal, so I have locked it for now. Some members of the boards are more sensitive than others when it comes to certain issues, and that is why I've decided that material should stick to the PG13 rating, and all fanfiction can be posted in te BSC section at fanfiction.net. For now, I'll keep this thread locked.

Just letting members know that I have had to temporarily ban a member for two months, owing to constant warnings and inappropriate behavior. This is the first time I've banned someone for that reason, but I just wanted members to know that there are repercussions for inappropriate behavior.

^ Okay, thanks for letting us know. You think, that person, will stop posting inappropriate posts, when the admin send them warnings about constant warnings and inappropriate behavior. That they'll stop posting negative things, on the forum. Post positive things on the forum. I know, some of us our adults. Somethings, are not meant to be post on friendly forum. Their are adult forums out there. Just have to search for them online.

Thank you, buttercup. I agree! Just because we're adults doesn't mean we want to see certain content (of course, I mean sexual content & violence rather than slash fanfic or whatever). This is my childhood BSC nostalgia place and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

Your welcome, Mistrali. Same here. I read some of BSC and LS fan fiction stories over at fan fiction site. Some of them, were uncomfortable for me to read them.
