I disagree with Mallory's "Hello, Mallory" outfit being so low on the ranking (3rd worst of all of them). I actually think she looks cute, much cuter than most of Mal's covers. Her skirt looks pretty, and she looks older than 11.

I love it! I pretty much agree with almost everything except for #14 hello Mallory.

One thing that I also noticed is how the writer comments on how over sized some of the outfits are, and I get her points, but that was the style back in the early 90s.

I'm not into fashion. This young lady is a fashion police. I don't know, she read all the books or not. But, everyone knows, that Kristy likes to wear a turtle necks and jeans in the winter time. T-shirts & jeans in the spring time. This young lady just irritated me, the whole time I was reading about her fashion statement. I think, she was doing fashion of 2000's, not 80's and 90's. Sweaters that big was fashion back in the 80's and 90's for lot of teenagers. She kept saying how Kristy's look so boring. But, if everyone wear the same outfit, it will be more boring than people wearing whatever they want. Good thing, I don't have to meet her in person. I can't stand fashion police. They want everyone to wear, what's in fashion. Not everyone is into fashion. Overall, I think, should be #1 is Stacey's Lie. I love that outfit.

I agree she seemed to be looking at several outfits through a modern day lens and not a 1980s-90s one. I had tons of huge oversized shirts, mainly because I always read about the BSC wearing them, and I wanted to be cool like them!

Yeah, the lady was a "fashion police" but it never really irritated me. Her opinions are her opinions. *shrugs* Anyway, I never found Kristy's outfits boring except for on #24 and #32. I like most of her clothes on the covers. I also like a lot of Mary Anne's. Certain Claudia and Stacey outfits are cute but not for me. Plus, not all their outfits weren't that sophisticated. Dawn isn't always "California casual" on the covers but I like a lot of her outfits (and a lot of outfits I don't like).

Enjoyed reading this! I forgot how much I used to look at the covers as a kid, and seeing some of those newer covers took me back as I hadn't "seen" them in awhile. Claudia's totally cute on the cover of Claudia Kishi, Middle School Dropout. Disagree with Mallory on Strike, though, Mallory's Christmas Wish is the only good pink/yellow combo

^I thought it was funny that Mal picked the exact same unusual color combination twice.
When I look at the covers I tend to update the outfits in my head. They mostly seem really normal when you pretend things like their jeans fit properly.

I thought the article was cute--didn't agree with some of the choices, though. I rarely like Jessi's cover looks.

Agreed that it's rather odd that she seems to so staunchly disapprove of any item of clothing that's baggy, without including a disclaimer that she's doing this specifically through a 2014 lens, as opposed to which of those outfits might have actually been considered cool or at least passable in the '80s and '90s. I love, however, how strongly supportive she is of Claudia's fashion risks! I love wacky Claudia outfits -- you might look like a nut if you wore many of them in public, but at least they're never boring! It's so much fun that the list-maker embraces those ideals.

I couldn't really understand what she saw in so many of Jessi's outfits.

Before I ever clicked on that link, I guessed that Keep Out, Claudia would be number one. I don't think Mary Anne's ketchup and mustard outfit deserved to be ranked so high, though.
