^ I can't remember much about this one so can't remember if he did or not. If Mel did make the calls, though, you're right fluffycakes. I never thought of that. Was he mad at all the baby-sitters or just the ones who got him in trouble? Maybe that was why. Is it possible he didn't even really know that Kristy was one of them (I doubt that since the BSC is famous in and out of Stoneybrook ;D)

The way I remember it, Mel asked the kids in the neighborhood where all the sitters were sitting and when, so he just went to the houses that were near his house. I guess he couldn't scam phone numbers from the houses in Kristy's neighborhood.

Yeah, that sounds about right. He wouldn't have known the kids in Kristy neighbourhood, as they all went to different schools right?

^ Most of them went to private schools, from what I understand. I also agree that sounds like a logical reason for Mel not bothering Kristy. I'll have to reread this one soon. It's one of my favorites ;D

^ Nope, Kristy wasn't bothered at all by Mr. X, which is why Dawn suspects her. I agree, he still could've called her. But I stand by what I said before - that the only is reason he didn't was for the sake of the plot.
Oh, well. This is one of my very favourites, so I don't mind any plotholes too much!

Does this book take place around Halloween? For some reason, I always think it does but wasn't sure. I'm making my "Halloween reading" list right now and wondered if this one needs to go on it. For some reason, I always have trouble remembering the details about this one even though it was one of my favorites as a kid and I still really enjoy it. I guess I do need to reread it soon. ;D

I just read this one, and I don't remember it taking place around Halloween.
I wasn't a big fan of this one. I thought it was kind of lame and boring.

^ Thanks. I probably won't reread now then, unless I have time.

Yeah this one isn't too interesting to me. I liked it when I was little but rereading it I realized how little there is to the mystery. It has a few semi-creepy moments but that's about it. I'd save it for a rainy day aln, when you have nothing better to do. It's pretty short, too, from what I remember, so it definitely won't take you long to speed through it.

I thought this one was creepy... I didn't remember Mr X was Mel Tucker, so I was wondering...

I just reread and liked it as always. I think one of my favorite things about it is that there are a lot of sitting chapters. I know I'm in the minority but I really enjoy those. Mel Tucker has some serious problems. Some of the things he did were downright creepy, especially for a kid. I shudder to think of what he might do as an adult.

I agree about Mel Tucker, he might be a creepy adult someday. One thing I liked about re reading this mystery was I didn't remember originally Mel was Mr. X so it added an extra scary element to it!

^ I loved that, too. I always laugh at how Becca says she wants to watch "snakeboylooseinsanfrancisco" ;D
