That is probably true. Too bad he didn't leave. Sent from my SM-G900P using proboards I actually like the way they end up ending their relationship, though, with Mary Anne becoming more independent and self-actualized. What if Stacey never returned to the BSC after her fling with hanging with the Bad Girls?

She would probably make other friends, meet more people, etc. And maybe still hang out with the Bad Girls.
What if Jessi never comes to Stoneybrook and join the BSC?

Mallory never would have been let into the Club, who would have lost the Pikes as clients. She gets very depressed because she is friendless, and probably would end up making the move to do something like Riverbend even earlier. What if the Porters hadn't opposed Richard and Sharon's relationship in high school?

Sharon and Richard would stay together. Sharon would have never met Jack so therefore Dawn and Jeff would never exist. Richard would have never met Alma and Mary Anne wouldn't exist.
What if there was a ninth child of the Pike family?

I think Sharon and Richard would have broken up on their own once they went to college. I never got the impression that they were destined soul mates. Richard loved Alma and would most likely still be with her if she hadn't died. (I just realized that Richard had issues with both of his women's parents, which seems like a red flag with him.)
The Pikes could keep adding kids to the pile and I don't think it would matter. They're that kind of family. I know a family with two sets of twins, so what if they meant to have Claire and got a Blair also?

Blair being male or female?

Blair being male or female? Female I think.

It can be either, but that's not relevant to what I was saying.

I see your point that it wouldn't matter because we'd be hearing about said kids on all the chapter 2s anyway.

If they had ended up with more twins... Hmm. Claire is just such a handful by herself that I bet her twin would've been another Vanessa or Mallory or Byron, very quiet. I think maybe Margo would have felt more left out and been closer to Nicky, since Vanessa and Mal have each other and Claire and Blair (although I don't think that the Pikes are the rhyming name type--see ABJ) would also have each other.
What if Sunny's mom had never gotten sick and not given Dawn the impetus to return to Palo City?

What if the series had ended at #100 with the club breaking up? (or if the series only got 4 books as was originally planned - there mighnt't be any of this fandom at all!)

Richard loved Alma and would most likely still be with her if she hadn't died. That brings up another "what-if"? What if Alma hadn't died? Mary-Anne and Dawn would have become friends and found out that their parents had been in love in high school (like in the book)? However, because Mary-Anne's parents are still together, it just would have made things awkward. They don't become as close as they do in the books. Sharon starts to wonder if she made a mistake in moving to Stoneybrook soon after her divorce, partly because it's hard for her to see Richard happy with Alma. She decides to move back to California. Dawn is sad to be leaving Mary-Anne but since they aren't that close, it's not a very big deal. They keep in touch after Dawn moves back (but may eventually stop).

Well, MA might've been pining for Logan for a while, but then she would've grown to appreciate the single life just as she did in FF#3.
What if Jessi had stayed in NYC after Jessi's Big Break?

Mallory would probably fall into a deep depression and search for a way to join Jessi in NYC.
What if Sharon put her foot down in Jeff and Dawn moving to California?
