I'm pretty sure there was some reused names before. There are...we just don't know all of them. 😁😁😁

All the dads that were named John. There was a recycled character name...Sabrina something? I can't think of any books in general that have multiple characters with the same name. I don't think there's that much of an overlap in main character names between different series of the era, either. There's a Christie in Fabulous Five. There's a Kate or Katie in Fabulous Five, Sleepover Friends, and Girl Talk. We could compare names from series to series in a thread of its own if anyone wants to keep discussing it.
What if Derek Masters was just a stage name? What if he was really something nerdy like Donald Mayberry?

All the dads that were named John. There did seem to be quite a few dads named John. There was a recycled character name...Sabrina something? There is a Sabrina in the Girl Talk series...everyone called her Sabs for short. She was bubbly, vivacious, loved plays, sleepovers, clothes and magazine articles. She actually looked a lot like Mallory minus glasses. There's a Christie in Fabulous Five. There's a Kate or Katie in Fabulous Five, Sleepover Friends, and Girl Talk. There's a Katie Shannon in the Fabulous Five series and a Katie Campbell in the Girl Talk series. There's also a Katie in the Sleepover Friends series, but I don't remember her last name. We could compare names from series to series in a thread of its own if anyone wants to keep discussing it. Good idea...update...I just created a new thread here...enjoy! babysittersclub.proboards.com/thread/6269/names-book-seriesWhat if Derek Masters was just a stage name? What if he was really something nerdy like Donald Mayberry? LOL, Geeeod, that would be dreadful for the poor kid! He'd have to legally change his name once he'd old enough. And the name Donald is especially an unpopular name right now.

He might get made fun for it at first before the bsc has a talk with the other kids about bullying. What if Myriah did win the pageant in book 15?

That would have been intriguing...Gabbie would have hugged her congrats.
What if the Zuni kids had come to visit Stoneybrook and met their pen pals at SES and the BSC helped babysit the Zuni kids?
What sort of ideas and cultural things would the BSC and their charges have learned from the Zunis and what would the BSC and the SES kids be able to teach the Zuni kids about New England's cultures?

She'd probably get her picture in the newspaper and forget about it the next day. Anticlimactic, lol. What if Watson had died? Do you think his will was even up to date? Would Elizabeth feel obligated to keep that big-ass house until Karen and Andrew could take control of it?

So if he died the will would be up to date and leave everything to be divided between them. I don't think they'd sell, if it was me I'd be attached to preserving it.
What if the BSC switched from Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to just Tuesday and Thursdays?

The BSC would adjust all right...they'd notify all the parents and clients naturally so there was no confusion.
What if Watson and Elizabeth adopted another toddler from either Central America or the Middle East a year after Emily Michelle joined the family?
How would the new child be welcomed and all?

I guess the parents would have to plan their weekends a little better by not having a Friday meeting. The girls might have to extend the meeting times a little to allot for more calls jammed into two days. What if Dawn shaved her head? Would she still be considered "California casual" or now "spooky bald girl"?

What if Dawn shaved her head? Would she still be considered "California casual" or now "spooky bald girl"? She would be considered the spooky bald girl for sure! The BSC would worry that she secretly had cancer or something. I'm all for gender flexibility, but just have a hard time seeing a girl or woman who would voluntarily be bald, even in NYC. I can never picture any of the BSC girls shaving their heads. What if Amelia Freeman had been in that crash in Mary Anne and the Memory Garden, but she had survived the crash and the rest of her family had been killed instead? Would Mary Anne visit Amelia in hospital? Would the rest of the BSC also visit? And how would the BSC see Amelia through the trauma? Do you think Mary Anne and her folks refer Amelia to Dr. Reese? What would the book have been titled instead?

Spooky bald girl, although I can imagine her maybe eventually inspiring some people to do the same if it was for a charity or something
What if the BSC did recruit some responsible older girls in book 3 to be members?

The BSC would have gone on and the older girls would have been a good asset.
The younger BSC would have maybe paid the older, driving-age girls to give them rides occasionally.

They didn't have many clients at that time. Doubling the amount of the members would have killed any money that the girls were making. If they did pick up new clients with older members it would have been because the parents wanted older sitters. I don't think parents would be cool with thinking they were getting a 15 year old and having Kristy show up on their doorstep. What if book Karen was written like Netflix show Karen? Would she still have her little social circle?

I still think Karen would, Nancy and Hannie would have their own quirks too.,
What if instead of Amelia dying it was Pete Black?

All his close friends would have been heart broken.
What if everyone in the school told Dawn to take her opinions and shove them where the sun don't shine when she comes on too strong with her views? Then treat her as if she had bubonic plague afterwards?
