Which book had the best scene with Karen's using makeup and why? I liked reading about the nail polish from the manicure and then putting on the glittery gold one Claudia gave her, though I wasn't sure if she was generally allowed to wear it or not. Of course as a kid I couldn`t wear makeup, but I could wear nail polish regardless of age. I felt sad she felt she had to wear her mom`s makeup to feel pretty, but it was still cute to read about how silly and goofy it was when she smeared the lipstick and blush on.

I'll say baby-sitters on board. That was one of my favorite part of the book. (I'll like to reread this soon.)

Yeah I liked that part too a lot too, though also felt it was unrealistic for a 6 year old to go off like that.

^Yeah. I couldn't imagine any 6 year old going off alone, like that.

I liked the glittery gold polish too, but the illustration of Karen wearing all the makeup and bows in her hair is crazy, lol. I'll go with the purple polish and ordering a Coke in SS#1

the pink polish also sounded cute, she could have kept it on properly and just made her pinkies gold or something...

The correct answer for everything is always Karen’s Haircut. It would have been fun if she decided that she liked the punk look and stuck with it.
