A lot of the sitters since there introduction had been flanderized (see this: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Flanderization) like Mary-Anne and her sensitivity, Claudia and how dumb she is... Personally I have to say Claudia I mean she couldn't spell her own name after awhile. I put other since I couldn't think of some for the other girls.

-Dawn was a regular, sunny girl who tried to limit her meat and sugar intake to an anti-sugar/meat crusader/obsessive environmentalist In CA Diaries, she's pretty normal, though.
-Kristy turns into a parody of herself later on (although I find later series Kristy pretty funny)

I voted for Claudia and her stupidity. Agreed that she couldn't even spell her name properly and she's 13. Also, she will get good grades sometimes (for example, when she needs them to pass a course or stay in the BSC) which shows me that it is possible for her to do well. Granted, if you take out the spelling and writing and perhaps focused on oral communication (for assessment purposes) she would probably do better. There are different types of learners and intelligences and she excels at others so she's not stupid.

I voted for other. Janine seemed like the stereotype of a brain to an exaggerated degree. The way she talked, her clothes, her habits, etc.

I say other because I think it was Kristy's athletic thing.

I'm voting for Mary Anne & her sensitive nature. Sometimes, she's too sensitive for even the little things.

Dawn. She turned from this California hippie girl into what I like to call an "@$$h0le Activist". She also just turns nasty and insensitive and doesn't care about the BSC.

Was Mary Anne's sensitivity really flanderized? She seemed to cry a lot even in the beginning. The main difference is that I found her sensitivity sympathetic in the early books and annoying in the later books.
I voted for other meaning Dawn and her activist ways.

Kristy for sure. She was mean and unnecessarily bossy at times, just to further a plot point. Also, Claudia.

I voted for MA and her sensitivity. She was sensitive in the beginning but then she was sweet and sympathetic. Later on (like after Sharon and Richard got married) she just got annoying and way too over sensitive.
For other is Dawn. When she was first introduced, she was laid back and relaxed girl who was only Semi-vegetarian. Later on she activated way too much, became really harsh and awful, and didn't care about the BSC. (God, I'm glad she moved to California again.)

Dawn, she was pretty cool at first, but became very annoyed later on. Dawn. She turned from this California hippie girl into what I like to call an "@$$h0le Activist". She also just turns nasty and insensitive and doesn't care about the BSC. Exactly.

Definitely Claudia and her stupidity. She didn't even get that bad of grades at first! She used to be a solid B- student, which is not that terrible, just especially bad in her household because of her sister. But it just got worse and worse.
I would have gone with Dawn, but California Diaries redeemed her. I'm in the middle of re-reading the entire series in chronological order, and I'm excited to read the BSC books in conjunction with the California Diaries books, just to see the contrast.

I voted for Kristy and Claudia. At least in the early books, Kristy would allow someone to miss a meeting if an emergency happened and the sitter isn't able to make it to a meeting. In later books, she would probably drag them out of their hospital bed and drag them to the meeting.
Claudia could work hard and get passible grades if she really wanted to. It's that she stopped trying after awhile. It's as if being dumb had poor Claudia's only personality trait.

In the Friends Forever part, the entire Stacey-Claudia fight over a boyfriend.
Out of character and the drama was dragged on for too long and was way over the top.
