I loved this one as a kid, particularly the Kristy chapters. Despite the ridiculousness of the whole thing - Mrs Kishi was able to walk to the Perkinses in a snowstorm to check on her daughter and the children, but Bart wasn't able to walk back to his place? Kristy was horrified by the prospect of Bart seeing her first thing in the morning and had to get up at 5am to make herself 'beautiful' with makeup, shaving, hair curling etc? Why? She could've just got up slightly earlier and simply taken a shower, pulled her hair into it's "messy ponytail" and voila! Bart would see her looking... uh, the way we're lead to believe she always does.
Ah well, inconsistencies are nothing new in BSC Land.
But this book will always be remembered, mainly for the final picture. Oh Jessi...

Well, maybe Bart lived really far away from Kristy! He was further than across the road, at least. Although I'm amazed that Quint managed to walk from the train station to Jessi's dance school, and Bart couldn't walk home. Although Stamford didn't lose power, so maybe it wasn't snowing as hard...
The final picture is one of the best ones of the group. I wonder if it'd look any good if it were made into an icon or something else small...

I don't know how far away Bart lives, but Kristy was able to get to his house pretty quickly in Kristy & Walking Disasters - when she was walking her dog by his house to get a look at him. As for Kristy needing to look good? How about Logan's skiing? Isn't it easier to walk their in snowboots or something? I've been skiing, and it's a b*tch to walk in skiies. Maybe the way to MA's house was at an incline. I dunno.

They were cross country skis, though, so doesn't mean that he could've skiied along flat bits? I thought that was the point of cross country skis.

Although I'm amazed that Quint managed to walk from the train station to Jessi's dance school Yes! I knew there was another example of WTF! Quint was 11 yrs old. Come ON. It really doesn't seem realistic that an 11 yr old would have the initiative to ask for directions to the dance school and then take himself there alone in the middle of a snowstorm. And Jessi's final note in the book Heaven. I'm in heaven. The dance was wonderful. Quint is wonderful. Life is wonderfulJust... ew. Way too passionate for an 11 yr old, IMO.

The Bart thing. Richard drove from his place to the Pikes to check on Mary Anne and Mallory, but Watson was like "Eh, I don't want to get my shiny car out of the garage. Sleep on the couch, Bart." Yeah, Bart actually got a guest room, but God is Watson lazy.
Hated how Jessi's dance teachers taught class multiple times a week but were so overwhelmed by the little kids that Jessi and Quint had to take over. And if Dawn and Sharon could hang out in the airport all night then why couldn't Quint stay at the train station? Jessi was so paranoid about frostbite in the BSC's Winter Vacation that she wouldn't even take part in a snowball fight, but Quint didn't mind wandering around a strange town in a blizzard.

They couldn't get the front door open! It wasn't totally Watson's fault. I thought it was a bit weird that Jessi and Quint ended up looking after all those little kids. What were the other teachers doing? What about the other older kids? Didn't *any* of them feel guilty for not helping out? And Quint was so overcome by the thought of seeing Jessi that he'd have walked a thousand miles

^ Well after that passionate kiss by the elevators, who could blame him? That stuff was pretty full on for eleven yr old kids (meanwhile Mallory's ten yr old triplets are still running around playing make-believe games)

And Tiffany Kilbourne is still being baby-sat and being sent home with letters from school... Back to Snowbound Is anyone else disappointed that the Masons weren't mentioned ever again? I liked them.

^Maybe. But Stacey and her mother had them over for dinner, surely they could've kept in touch. That would've been nice. Although I don't know why they'd have featured, considering as you say, their place was too far for Stacey to babysit.

I loved the part where the Pikes were all trying to figure out what to eat and Nicky (or one of the boys) suggested that they have spaghetti with chocolate sauce or something to that effect. I haven't read that in ages. I need to dig it up and read it again. Geni

Baloney/bologna is a lunch meat. I think it comes from pigs, maybe some cow too. Its disgusting, kinda pinkish red. Oscar Mayer pretty much has the monopoly on it in the states.
