Let's hope she didn't peek around the bathroom door thinking: "I could find out just what goes on when a girl becomes a woman. (I've been dying to know)." Haha, that was my first thought when I read the reply saying Mal probably wrote about it in her journal!! And then I read your post, and it's like, "Wait a minute... That sounds awfully familiar!".

I know that was mentioned way above...but I got to give shout outs to someone who loves the BSC and the Simpsons.
What I like most about Snowbound is the not-so-outlandish quality to it. It's not a SS where all the girls are going on vacation together or on a school trip together.
It's kind of original for a super special, since in all the other outlandish ss, the storylines are soo recycled--someone (usually Claudia or Stacey) meets and falls in love with a boy, someone (usually Kristy or Mary Anne) gets in a fight with someone else (usually Dawn), someone makes friends with a person who appears to be suspicious or strange at first but turns out to be wonderful. blah blah.
I also enjoy the interior illustrations--esp. Bart's elf-like ears, Stacey's non perm hair, and Logan looking like a 7year old on skis.

^ speaking of the Simpsons, that picture of Logan on skis reminds me of the "stupid sexy Flanders" scene ;D

Heh, Logan *does* look young, doesn't he?
This is also the book with the great, great picture at the back of the girls and their gorgeous dresses. Heh.

Dang I'm feeling like I need to re-read this one. I never really cared for it, but you all seem to like it.

I always liked this one, but then again, I liked all the super specials when I was younger. Not so fond of #4 now, but oh, well. I was always fascinated by the strange places they all got stuck. Spending the night all alone somewhere without parents would have been way fun for me when I was younger. Also...isn't this the East coast? Don't they get bed blizzards every year, and shouldn't they have been used to stuff like enough to NOT get stuck in weird places? If something like that happened here in the Pacific Northwest, then yes, I could see people freaking out and not knowing what to do, but not in that part of the country. Someone who's from there please correct me if I'm wrong. Now that I'm older, I'm really much more weirded out by how serious Quint and Jessi were. besides, is Quint really a name? Isn't that what you call someone who is one of 5 siblings that were all born at the same time ? Also, I don't think the family that Stacey and her mom ended up with are called the Masons. The baby's name is Mason...their last name was Schiavone, I think.

Nah, Stoneybrook is on the ocean and they don't get snowstorms as much. I've lived in the NE my whole life and I can only remember two blizzards that were that bad.

Hmmm....okay, good to know. I guess the only time we hear about weather over there is when it's awful.

Places on the ocean don't get snowstorms as much? Huh? I've seen a number of storms that bad. But I also live more than three degrees north of Stamford. That could make a difference.

I don't think this has been mentioned, but what's with Quint spending the weekend with the Ramseys?
I understand that the set-up allows Jessi to have a date for the dance...but the Ramseys and um, what's Quint's last name...and Quint's family do not know each other (other than what their child has told them) and have not meet. The reader can speculate that the parents have spoken over the phone...but other than that, it's like, well hello there boy we don't know, come spend the weekend with us. Or, why hello there family we don't know, why don't you let our son you don't know come stay with you for a weekend.
Yeah, it's pretty unbelievable that the parents would arrange this.

^ Yeah, you're absolutely right. And knowing the BSC, the Quint-family and Ramsey parents would not have spoken over the phone Another stupid, totally unbelievably concept was the fact that the day after Quint arrived (and presumably for the rest of the week) Jessi was going to be at school. They didn't know school was going to be cancelled because of the snow in advance. So what was Quint supposed to do all day? Hang out with Aunt Cecelia?
