Thanks! I vaguely remember Ryan DeWitt and I think the DeWitt children went to Sea City one year with the Barrett children, but other then that I couldn't rember them.

Ugh don't get me started. Not only was she BLACK, she was female and eleven yrs old. The BSC covers may portray her as a mid-20s mannish looking thing, but haven't these people seen what 11 yr old kids look like? They could NEVER pass as Santa. The only way the Jessi chapters could be more ridiculously PC was if she was in a wheelchair, blind, pregnant and breastfeeding! I know. I think this series has given me an unrealistic vision of 11 year olds. LOL. I just started student teaching 5th graders, only a year younger than Mal and Jessi, and I can't imagine any of them acting like Mal and Jess do. Not to mention any of them realistically in a Santa suit. I know most kids have a growth spurt between 5th adn 6th, but still. I see the 6th graders in the hall. No way.

I haven't read this book in awhile but I feel really sorry for Mrs. Barrett. Can you imagine if one of your bridesmaid's couldn't make it and the best replacement you could get was the thirteen year old girl who babysat your kids sometimes?

I don't know. I mean, they were never very clear on that fact. ;D LMAO! ;D So unrealistic. Especially since Stacey wasn't even the Barrett's "special" babysitter. That was Dawn. Although I guess she was needed for the Jack/Carol wedding.

I meant it sounds as if Mrs. Barrett is really friendless (and doesn't have any female relatives she gets along with either).

^ yeah I know, but I was just pointing out that the babysitter she chose as a bridesmaid wasn't even really any special connection. ITA that such a glamorous working mother like Mrs Barrett having absolutely no adult female aquaintances is strange.

well she was pretty odd imo. she seemed like sharon, scatterbrained and all. franklin must have been crazy marrying her and marrying into the barrett family.

Reread this one. I thought it was cute how Stacey described the ushers as "ushing". Or maybe it was Shannon, I forget. Dawn looks unusually Stacey-like on the cover, and did anyone else think of Ina Garten after looking at the illustration of Whitney Cater?

^ I always thought Dawn and Stacey were pretty much indistinguishable on most covers. Which is highly annoying.

^True. I got my copy of the Chain Letter book before Stacey's Big Crush, and I thought they made a mistake and put Dawn's face on it twice.

I just reread this one and probably will have to reread around Christmastime since it got me in that mood instead of a “warm” mood that I wanted. This is one of my least favorite Super Specials. It isn’t bad – just nothing much to it. I didn’t care about most of the chapters. Mallory’s, Suzi’s, Logan’s, and Jeff’s were my favorites. I had to roll my eyes about the 11 year old black Santa and Claudia the design expert wedding consultant. MA and Dawn were incredibly dense for assuming MA would be a bridesmaid. I really don’t get why they would consider it. Who is she to Carol and Jack – the daughter of Jack’s ex’s new husband. Thought it was odd, too, that Stacey was a bridesmaid for Mrs. Barrett. I also didn’t like that this book was the official joining of the Barrett-Dewitt family – a combo I can’t stand. Suzi was cute, though, and I loved the thing about the cookie crumbs as a trail for Santa. I also liked Mal and Ben’s fight and the description of them caroling. In all, this book was a bit boring and not one of my favorites but not terrible and did have its funny, enjoyable moments.
