^Ooh, i hate clowns too. I actually do get really worked up about picking out towels and place settings. I love house wears! I love decorating and deciding on all the little stuff. My mom says I'm going to anger lots of people when it comes time for me to register for a wedding because I'm so picky and high maintenance. I love housewares, too! I was at Marshall's last night picking up candlesticks, and I fell in love with a wooden spoon. I'm going back today to pick it up. Also...I'm not engaged yet but I have a list of everything I want to register for. Cinnamon colored kitchenaid mixer, here I come! Anyway, I could understand how happy Carol was to open up wedding presents.

My Kitchen-Aid is cobalt blue. I bought it way before I got married.
Although I registered for my wedding, my friend bought me the fugliest toaster. Hot pink with 60s-style flowers. Kind of retro, but definitely not for me.

Are these Kitchen-Aids that you are talking about the ginormus mixers? my mom had one in black, and I convinced her to get rid of it because it's so f'ing huge. Plus she doesn't cook often enough for it to warrant the counter space. (But I like my kitchen counters bare and unused and scrubbed clean. She, on the other hand, doesn't mind clutter). When I was an actual grownup and had my own apartment, I think I used the oven twice. Once was the heat the apartment when the heat was turned off by the idiot janitor and the other was to cook a frozen pizza before I found out i could just use my toaster oven for that.

I have a red KitchenAid. Pretty much everything in my kitchen is red.

I can, too. I'm still trying to figure out how to have a wedding shower for myself without actually getting engaged. ;D I always liked the scene where they opened the gifts in this book.

Maybe that's why people bought them a clown lamp. No one needs a clown lamp.

It would be a good way to keep thieves from robbing your house. That thing seemed so scary.

Do you guys think the clown lamp was a gag gift, or did someone legitimately think it was cool?

^ I would guess that someone out there saw it and said "that's the CUTEST thing I've EVER seen." ;D Scary! ;D I was glad that Dawn and Jeff were more accepting of Carol in this book since I really liked her.

Haha, I loved how Dawn told her dad and Carol that she wouldn't visit them ever again if they kept the lamp, and then Jeff's all disappointed when they throw it out since he sort of liked it. ;D
I'm glad they were more accepting of Carol as well. She seems like a cool person, and between her and Sharon, I think I'd rather have Carol as my mother (sorry Sharon).
