I love that picture of Mary Anne and Logan from that chapter in Seal City, Here We Come. I love how Logan is kind of freaking out about meeting Alex, knowing that Mary Anne used to like him. It's funny how he kind of felt "threatened" by him. I wonder what Alex felt when he met Logan? I've always kind of thought that Alex would hold a torch for her later on in life

I love the pic of MA and Logan too! I just looked at that last night. It's so cute. I love MA and Logan together she usually looks pretty cute in her pictures. And I loved when Logan pointed out that he was bigger than Alex. lol.

I just finished this last night. Okay lol @ Logan getting a friggin carriage thing to take Mary Anne home in! Wouldn't she be too embarrassed to ride in that?! Geesh, I would, and I'm not even shy.
Also, I noticed when the whole clan was driving to the elementary school, Mrs. Pike was holding little Marnie ON HER LAP. In the car. That is sooo against the law!
I thought Margo's tidal pool was kinda funny. Buddy's chapter was kinda funny, too.

The BSC always used to ride in cars illegally. I used to think it was because the laws in America weren't so strict regarding seat belts and stuff. But there were plenty of occasions where all seven girls were crammed into Charlie's car and surely that's not right? Also, in Happy Holidays Jessi, why is it even a consideration to take a fussy baby out of his car seat?

^Oh gosh, I always wondered how they managed to get all 7 girls crammed into Charlie's car! They must have been seriously squished together! I agree about the carriage thing. It seems so out of character for Mary Anne to be ok with that! I would be mortified and I'm not one to run out on my own surprise party!

The carriage thing seemed so romantic, though! I just wish that it was told in a proper chapter, so you don't have to find out through deciphering Mary Anne's handwriting.

Oh, I totally agree ^^ The first few times I read this book as a child, I was SO confused as to what Logan had planned. I didn't read Mary Anne's notebook entries/letters/postcards because I couldn't stand her handwriting, so I was completely lost. Now I force myself to read hers (and Jessi's).

I never understood how long he's booked the carriage for. If it was the whole way back to Stoneybrook it woulda been a loooooooong trip home. But Logan's obviously got ideas for entertainment, judging by his hand positioning. Why did Mary Anne's dad approve of her boyfriend going on the same holiday as her?

Mary Anne's dad became just another indifferent parent, in other words

Ah, yes, that. It's so much easier for the BSC to be Super Sitters when they haven't got adults interfering, though!

Just read this one and liked it pretty well. For some reason, Mallory's card about Nicky barfing in the rental van made me laugh. Good thing Stacey was with the Barretts or there could have been "double trouble". I thought the carriage thing was sweet but wondered about MA and Logan staying in the same house. If Richard allowed this, it doesn't make him "strict" in my opinion. I also noticed Franklin "Harris" and did anyone else catch that it said Buddy was 7 and then 2 pages later said he was 8? Proofreading, proofreading.... As for Toby and Mallory, I was glad that she had someone like her instead of Stacey. Shows that sometimes guys can be attracted to a girl who isn't the "pretty, sophisticated" one. But in my opinion a 15 year old liking an 11 year old is just .... ick! Once again, I got past this by imagining all of the characters as older. If Mal is 15 and Toby is 17 or 18, I don't think that is so bad. In all, I enjoyed the book. Maybe just because I like Sea City. But what is it about the place that makes Stacey so mean? Maybe the boys...

Total word. Richard probably just assumed that the adults would keep an eye on them to ensure nothing went on, but a truly strict parent wouldn't even take a chance. My mother for example Again, word on the age thing. But it was totally unrealistic, IMO, that a 'cool' 15 yr old boy would dump a beautiful, sophisticated NYC girl (with her bikini top filled out nicely, don't forget) for an awkward, sturdy 11 yr old redhead with glasses and braces. Teen boys are usually pretty shallow. Maybe he figured Mallory would be insecure, eager to please and thus, an easy lay. Or something. Toby was a perv, that's for sure.

The Harris thing annoyed me so much! I think I mentioned it on the old board's inconsistencies thread... Grr.
