Firstly, sorry if this has already been discussed before, but I couldn't see anything like this when I had a quick look before. So anyway, I've always thought that the books between #13 and #28 were slightly let down by Stacey's absence, excluding of course Stacey's Mistake. I can understand why Ann chose to move Stacey away, especially as they needed an excuse to introduce Mallory and Jessi to the BSC. Though whilst some of the books in that group are some of my favourites, I kind of feel like they weren't as good as they could have been because Stacey wasn't around, and Stacey was actually never one of my favourite sitters. I just felt like she balanced the group out really well, and I seriously feel like a book like Mary Anne's Bad Luck Mystery would have been a bit better if Stacey had of been around for it. It's kind of hard to explain, but every time I re-read a book when Stacey was away, I always find it more disconcerting than when Dawn was back in California. Though on the other hand, I really liked it in Sad Goodbye when Mimi's funeral was written through Stacey's perspective, of how she remembered it to Claudia later, but that could have happened if Stacey had of been in Stoneybrook the entire time I suppose. So yeah, does anyone else feel as though Stacey's absence let those books down a bit? Or was it just me?

I always felt the same about that book too. The first super mystery would have had an added something (for me) as well if she had been around for it and not an ex-member during that time.

^it always seems to me like Stacey was an ex-member for longer than she actually was.
