I guess I'm going to have to call your house to see if you're home or not. If not, I'll climb in and steal it!! (just kidding!) Do cliques in the series always have leaders? Let's see there's Laine, Kristy, Cokie, Alan (with Cary, Justin Forbes, etc.) Do cliques in middle schools in real life always have leaders? I was never in a clique so I don't know.

I never thought that Alan was really in a clique with Cary. As if Cary would follow anyone! He's the hot, man of mystery who is more of an individual than Dawn could ever be.

Claudia's teacher was a b*tch. She tells them to do whatever they want, draw how they see themselves, then when Claud does exactly that, she yells at a 6 year old?! Rock on Mimi. Word on Stacey's "friends." I'm surprised she went back to them when she moved back to NY. And another time that Allison girl has some dinner, doesn't invite Stacey, until someone else backs out. That girl's got some nerve. Also surprised Mr. Spier let Mary Anne be friends with Kristy, seeing as she wasn't exactly a good influence. But I guess the pros outweighed the cons. Like, ya know, having a friend, and a mother figure in Mrs. Thomas. Speaking of, I can't believe they never tried to get the two of them together. Then again, Kristy wasn't exactly excited to get another father. I'm wondering whether Mallory's story is a fantasy of Ann's. "I wish some little girl would be so touched by my writing she'd come and cry in front of me!" She might not be so pleased about what we say here. Logan...was a bit stalkery.

I've actually wondered that too ;D
Oooh, I know. Don't you just want to slap her? Those girls were so unbelievably bitchy. Stacey seemed like a really nice kid in this chapter. I liked how she stuck up for Allison in the beginning. Typical eleven yr old bitches, turn on you for personal gain. Very realistic. It was one moment in the series where they dealt with a serious issue quite well.

Aww, I liked Logan's chapter! I loved seeing more of the Hunter family, and seeing the Logan version of "Logan Likes Mary Anne!".
Agreed about Stacey's chapter. I actually like Stacey more in this book than a lot of other ones.

^^ me too. I can't believe he followed her for a couple of days!! Geeze Logan- what is it that Izzie says to George on "Grey's Anatomy"? "Wouldn't it be easier to just ask her out?" I mean, he followed her until she went into the bathroom...and he didn't want to wait around for her. Kind of cute= but I agree...it was kind of stalkerish. Wonder what Mary Anne would ahve done had she known he was following her?

I really liked Stacey's because it really shows why she was initially so reluctant to tell the BSC about her diabetes. I remember my reaction was the same as her friends: "Diabetes? Is that all?" I didn't read The Truth about Stacey for awhile and haven't since but maybe that gives more insight though. Anyway, after hearing what Stacey went through I can't really blame her for keeping it a secret.
I really liked Shannon's too. Until Shannon's Story, it was the only really insight of her life beyond the BSC. Wasn't it also the first time something was told from her point of view?
Claudia's was pretty good. I love Claudia's relationship with Mimi. Her art teacher was an idiot. Who would expect a six year old to know what a self portrait is? I'm surprised Claudia was the only one who didn't draw one.
Jessi's story is kind of boring but I liked learning a bit about her life in Oakley. It's rarely mentioned.
I didn't really like Mary Anne's.
I liked reading about Dawn's parent's divorce.
I didn't mind Logan's. It was kind of interesting to see part of a book for another perspective but got kind of repetitive.
The others I'm neutral on.

I think Shannon had chapters in other Super Specials too, although I can't remember which ones.

I actually enjoyed Jessi's part of this book, although it's certainly been awhile since I read it. It was mostly Mrs. Jasper who did it for me -- I laughed when Jessi said she thought Becca would ask Mrs. Jasper to adopt her, and when Jessi tried to look up colic under C-A-U because she had been around Mrs. Jasper too long, or whatever.

I really liked this book. Kristy: of course she gets the babysitting chapter, but still it was cute. I liked how all the neighbors kept calling/stopping by. Poor Mary Anne was still being babysat when Kristy was babysitting! Mary Anne: loved her chapter! Loved how she talks about Kristy getting her in trouble. I just love reading about the 3 girls (Kristy, MA and Claud) as kids. Claudia: Mimi was awesome in this and I don't usually like Mimi so much. I can't believe what a b*tch Claud's teacher was, but this was the same one that would yell and make Mary Anne cry everyday, so... also loved how Janine walked them to and from school, very cute. Stacey: I'm sorry but if I was Laine, I'd have freaked out too if Stacey peed on me. I know it's diabetes and all, but seriously they were TWELVE. What 12 year old is understanding of a girl PEEING ON HER?! In the words of the BSC: ew, ick! Honestly, at that age, I'm sorry to say I would've went to school and talked crap about Stacey too :/ I thought it was very realistic and I thought Laine looked super cute in the pic of her and Stacey! Dawn: Very interesting... I had no idea Mr. Schafer was staying out all night. That's very suspicous, maybe he cheated on her? I mean staying out all night w/ your friends is something a 20something guy would be in trouble for w/ his gf, I can't see a 30something FATHER doing that. It was quite surprising to me that Sharon was sleeping on the couch and stuff. I thought this was rather dark for a BSC moment. Mal: Sooo cute, I loved it. Bursting into tears was super cute I also liked reading about her being a sittee and how her mom knew she adored her babysitters MA and Claud Jessi: I was really surprised at her chapter. I had no clue she hated Squirt at first! So sad! I can say I would not want a letter from my big sister ALL about how she hated me when I was born. I love that her mom didn't formula feed though. Go Jessi's Mom!!! (honestly, that was what stuck out the most for me in her chapter) Shannon: Um... snore. I like reading about Shannon but her story was pointless. And she sounded SO conceited in it!!! The girls ALL do the "Im so great at such and such thing, it's just the truth!" thing, but seriously Shannon goes on and on and on about how smart she is. Annoying. Logan: I loved reading this from his perspective, but I have to agree he did sound a bit stalkerish... Can you tell I just read this for the first time?

^Looking at all of the sitters' memories like that, it seems that Shannon's was kind of weird. The rest of them had stories either about people who or chapter 2-type details that were extremely important to them -- but Sally White came out of nowhere. I can see how they tied it in to be like, "Oh, now I get why she was a b*tch to Kristy!" but it really just made me think, "THAT'S her most vivid memory? She didn't have anything better?"

I agree. I said this in Mr. Schafer's thread too, but I really think something happened. Plus, you've got Sharon fleeing to the other side of the country. Although afterwards, they seemed to get along fine, so who knows.
