I don't think Sunny is responsible at all. in fact she is probably one of the least responsible characters in the entire series, but I still love her.

^ Agree and glad I'm not alone. She just seems like too much of a "free spirit" to be tied down with responsiblities. My impressions come from the BSC books, too, since I've never read the CA diaries.

The Mallory hair dye thing. Ok I made the mistake of dying my dark brown hair blonde last summer. It turned a hideous orange color. Redying it back really didn't work. I'm not sure if Mallory would have been completely successful in hiding it from her parents but maybe I was just unlucky.
I'm now laughing at the Stacey thigh picture. I never noticed it before. I could see Stacey getting fat later on. I'm not sure why but I have this picture of her chubby later on.

I don't think you can exactly "dye" hair blond if it's darker...don't you have to bleach it? I'm already blond, so that's not something I've ever had to deal with. If you have to bleach it, Mallory using wash out dye wouldn't exactly work, would it?

I've wanted to get blodne highlights or something...or been thinking about it... I used to be blodne, and my natural color isn't THAT dark, I dont know if it would work or not though.

I just remembered something from the first time I read this--I knew what the word "intimate" meant, but the way Claudia uses it to describe her dinner with Terry, I thought it had a colloquial meaning, like you would go into a restaurant and ask for an "intimate" if you wanted to be seated next to each other.
Luckily I figured out that Claudia was just being a drama queen before I ever had occasion to try it out. ;D

Mine started coming out in huge chunks and I had a few bloody patches on my scalp. If I was going to try it again, I'd go to a professional. I have almost as many skin allergies as Abby and even some laundry detergents and certain dish soaps give me huge lesions.

Did someone help Mal dye her hair? I can not picture an 11 year old dying their hair. Was she planning all along to return to red before going home?

^ i dont thinks o. She just went in and everyone was in the bedroom or whatever and she came back out blonde. I refuse to dye my hair by myself. I dont want to do it, I always have someone else do it.

^^Weren't Carol and Jessi with Mal when she bought the dye? They could have stopped her then.

^No, they'd gone to the mall together, but Mallory ran off to the makeup counters and bought the dye there alone.

I would never dye my hair alone either, in fact I have it professionally done when I do because I am afraid I will mess up.

I have highlights, so I go get mine professionally done. I know I could do it myself, but I know I'd mess it up and look hideous, so I'd rather pay to get it done. (Too bad it costs so much money!)

^ Tell me about it...I've had highlights in the past, and get charged extra because my hair is so long and thick. LOOOOOOOOONG, as the BSC would say. I've always liked makeover stuff in these books, but Mal's was the one makeover that never really appealed to me and made me want to give myself a makeover.

^No, they'd gone to the mall together, but Mallory ran off to the makeup counters and bought the dye there alone. Didn't Dawn blame Carol, though, for letting Mal get the dye? Or did she just blame Carol for encouraging Mal to change her looks (because she didn't let Carol finish her statement but assumed that's what she was going to say)? It's been a while since I've read this one.
