hmm... maybe haley was in shock?? if i had an incredibly bad experience on an island, i'd probably want to forget about it too. Clearly Claudia forgets about being stranded on an island, judging from Everything Changes! ;D

^ Claudia tends to forget a lot of things. That's how she became Queen of the Seventh - instead of Eighth - grade ;D

Haha... still, you dont think you'd forget something as traumatic as being stuck on an Island! Stupid ghostwriters!

Am rereading and the fight between MA/Logan is really stupid. What I don't get is why did Dawn have to call MA at the Perkins to say that Logan couldn't meet her? Why didn't Logan just call her, himself?

^Because it's not good business to have your boyfriend calling you while you are supposed to be watching children? Just a guess.

Why didn't Logan just call her, himself? I just recently re read and thought the same thing. I don't think it would have been that big of a deal for him to call up and just let her know, especially if it was just a short call. I think I remember them talking on the phone really briefly on another job of hers.

I also considered that Penny Lane but agree with msstock. I don't see any problem with a quick call to alert of an "emergency" at home and really don't see much difference between a best friend (true, Dawn is also her sister) and boyfriend calling. Also, who would know as long as the call was really quick? I guess this book was before MA Breaks the Rules when she decided it was okay to have her boyfriend come over without telling the mother.... ;D

yeah, that seems really contrived. if they didn't need dawn and ma to have a fight he would have called her himself.

I think I finally decided that Logan just didn't have the Perkins's phone number (at least not at hand), but there's really no sane reason for Dawn to know it, either--MA herself might, from her record-keeping, and Claudia would have it at hand (assuming she could find the record book AND remember what she was supposed to be doing with it), but I don't know why Dawn would, unless Kristy drills them all on the clients' numbers. (Although come to think of it, they never seem ti have to stop to look up numbers when they call people back, so maybe she really does do that!).
But regardless, it's still really contrived.

^I think Dawn should know the Perkins' phone number.

^Why? It's not her job, it's Mary Anne's. However, any one of them could just look it up. There is also directory assistance, I'm sure they knew the Perkin's address, as it used to be next door to Mary Anne and across the street from Claudia.

^ Agree. I assume either of them had to find the number. I think Logan was just being lazy and since Dawn offered, who was he to say no? ;D

Assuming Richard was like my mother, Mary Anne would have to leave the number of where she was going to be that day. Nobody would have even known if Logan had called, unless one of those precocious stinkers answered the phone.
