This is a poll to vote whether we want to move the boards.
Reasons for moving the boards: -We can't even change the images on the boards. Those large boxes for imageshack will be there forever. -No way to get in touch with The Admin Man. -Proboards, I believe, recommended moving, since it is not a good idea to have a board with no one in charge of it. -Kylie would be able to appoint admins to help with daily tasks. -Complete control over the board.
Reasons for staying: -We've been here for almost ten years, and many of us have thousands of posts. -We wouldn't be able to move those thousands of posts over.

I know we have been discussing this for a while and the names (members on in last 24 hours) are pretty much the same, last few days. To me this poll seems awfully quick! Maybe give it a full week? Though I also understand may be better to just decide. Please know this not intending to be negative or positive, just an observation. Thanks.

Zoar, going by the numbers, it seems that those who are here on a regular basis have already voted. but if you have concerns, maybe talk to Kylie in PM.

We talked about making the poll better known but realised that those who are most active would have been on and seen the discussions. Not that we're trying to rush anything, but it does just seem most people are in favour.

Thank you both for your replies. I do agree that the people who have signed in recently of late, (probably) have long since voted and/or shared their thoughts in the thread. My first reaction to reading that today is the last day was "what a quick poll." I simply wanted to share my feeling on that. I also know what matters is not our web address but keeping BSC talks going. I am thankful this board will still be log-in-able and here for all of us to enjoy and look back on. This means a lot to me because we do have such a long history and I didn't want that lost in the move, that goes from Afton's posts to those of longer time posters who may not have the Stoneybrook time they once did, people like Macca and BSClover (I think was her name, I know there were a few BSC nicknames on here and many others who definitely helped start and keep this board going. I did vote, no secret, to stay and still would prefer to but the honest truth is that counts is that BSC discussion and friends through it will continue.

Has anyone googled babysitters club recently? When you do, this board shows up on the third page. When you add forum, it's the first result. Then you go into it, and it looks unrelated and out of use. I'm not saying getting new members is more important than keeping our discussions going, but it really has gotten difficult to maintain. For those who aren't totally sold on the move, the admin could even go about creating the new board, and having it ready to go so everyone can see how it will look and feel before we move over. I for one am excited to start the discussions again, and maybe we could even have a big event to kick start things. Anyway, just some thoughts.

^I Googled last week at Jury Duty! I just know the computer was s-l-o-w and at first the site wasn't allowing me to sign in. I honestly did not pay attention to the actual search just laughed that after all these years I was searching for it! By that, I mean, I have this site as a favorite. My move thoughts are still the same. I do like that this board wouldn't shut down like tomorrow while the new was being made. I would like to see the new before it took over. As for admin, are we going to start a poll on that or once a move is decided more prominently go back to that discussion? Just wondering. Thank you.

I've already started a new thread for people to nominate, and only Greer has. So keeping Booboo and myself as candidates, that's only three people who are interested. I don't think we'd need a vote unless we have more people interested? Seeing as we don't want too many admin.

^ I haven't seen that new thread. The only person that I thought of nominating was greer.

I for one am excited to start the discussions again, and maybe we could even have a big event to kick start things. I love this idea! Maybe we could all try to get on the new board at the same time on its first official "live" day. We can have a virtual BSC meeting, eat our favorite snacks, and post away.
