I really am quite giggly. Just started to read this as an ebook and read the bit about Dawn nearly spitting out her grape juice over the mahimahi.
That reminded me of a similar experience. I was in NYC on holiday with my family and we went to the Hard Rock Cafe. I ordered the fish special and the waiter came to see if the food was ok to which I replied the fish was gorgeous and what was it.
He replied - mahimahi, it's dolphin.
Put it this way, my reaction was similar!

^ Dolphin??? What does it taste like? I'm not a big seafood fan, anyway, but that might especially gross me out. I imagine it as being slimy, chewy, and tough.

But mahi mahi isn't dolphin as in Flipper. It's a fish, not a mammal, and quite tasty.

^ So it's not a big dolphin but dolphin fish? What's the flavor? I think I'll take your word on it being good. ;D

Exactly! I haven't had it in awhile, but IIRC, it is sweet and tender, and not at all fishy. My friend likes saying, "mahi mahi. The fish so nice they named it twice."

What else did Dawn eat--a type of bread called "Pe'e Pe'e" or something like that? And Claudia was disgusted and Dawn had to say "it has apostrophes!" Hehe.

It's really nice, a white fish, quite fleshy and tender. Absolutely gorgeous, but I did have a 'Dawn' moment when they said 'dolphin.' Just couldn't believe it when I read it in the book as that was pretty much exactly what happened with me.

^ That actually does sound pretty good. Maybe I will try it. For sure, if I ever get to Hawaii ;D (I know you can get it lots of places.)

I think everyone has a "Dawn" reaction when they hear the word "dolphin" used to describe mahi-mahi. Maybe the fish people should change it to something else.

i don't like eating fish or any sea creatures, really. they're always kind of stinky. my boyfriend eats canned krill and it's the grossest-smelling thing ever!

^ Canned fish is soooo nasty, to me. It reminds me of canned cat food, which grosses me out beyond words. Also reminds me of tuna fish, another food that grosses me out. ;D
