Thank you, Greer for this idea from the Mystery at Claudia's House thread. I have been thinking that in most of the BSC's homes was either something that helped to start or solve a mystery and the same with a few clients. I thought it might be interesting to make a list. I'm not that big a fan of the mysteries but always fun to reread looking for something to new and to add to our discussions. ETA: I apologize this was originally in the wrong thread, just deleted and moved here.
Kristy's House we know is where Ben Brewer lived and according to Karen may still be part of. The TB Mansion also led Kristy to finding out about Christina Thomas (Kristy and the Missing Fortune) and sadly was a target for pumpkin smashing in Karen's Pumpkin Patch. Yes, I know Mrs. Mysterious herself, Moribidda Destiny lived next door. I am meaning more in terms of one of the girls homes leading to or helping solve a mystery.
Claudia's House, to me the biggest mystery there is if Claudia and Janine are such expert candy hoarder and hiders why would Claudia feel a lack of detective skills in Mystery at Claudia's House? I know the Lighthouse Ghost mystery came into being solved when the Hatts visited and so brought forth their Stoneybrook history and connection to the lighthouse with them.
Mary Anne/Dawn introduced us to the Secret Passageway, that I will always wish had been further explored in future books and Jared Mullary, possibly along with Priscilla Gaitlin (Sea City, Here We Come, too). There home should and could have helped with clues in Mallory and the Mystery Diary and also (I have not read this in forever because it's not a favorite) Abby and the Best Kid Ever. (I wanted to learn of one more house in Stoneybrook that was also a stop on the Underground Railroad). I just remembered the Music Box Mystery! That was solved from history at Dawn's Grandparents home and that neighbor of theirs, too, blanking on their name,
Stacey's house was the answer (and original home) to Sophie's Mystery that Mal uncovered within the trunk she brought to her own home. I know that may not count since the trunk had the diary in it before being moved to the Pikes but still.
Jessi's house also provided the home base for the spy sleepover in Stacey and the Mystery at the Empty House.
Charlotte's House, wasn't that a key to Stacey and the Haunted Masquerade?
Lisa and Seth's "little house" was where Henry Carmody as a young boy hid his coins and treasure map to find them.
Nancy's House was the site of Karen's Spy Mystery and I guess since Percy her never heard from before or since dog was one of the keys there, that story does have some past/current connection.
I remember I once said in some thread that Buddy predicted the Dognapping in Dawn and the Disappearing Dogs. I don't remember which book or if lol that started at the Barrett's house but it might have.
I almost forgot Mr. Hennessey's old house from Stacey and the Mystery of Stoneybrook and sort of MA's Bad Luck Mystery with Oldhickory although nothing found by the BSC art MA's helped solve that case.
All right, the "jewel thieves" who were Quint's neighbors but thankfully that wasn't real or at Quint's house!
We could also say that the Menders entire new house helped solve a mystery of very creepy criminals and to the truth of the rightful owners.
What other pieces of Stoneybrook's past (or even current to a book like Missing Fortune) began in someone's house?
