^ And with postcards that you send to people in Stoneybrook while you're at the airport waiting to go home, that say, "I'll probably see you before you get this card!"

I never understood the point of that. In all likelihood, knowing how they talk about everything, they would have told the postcard recipient everything that was written about anyway by the time it arrived, which means they just wasted a stamp!

I remember one time I went on vacation when I was eight or nine and decided to write postcards to all my friends. I think I forgot to send them, though. I am also sure I did the requisite "I will probably get home before you get this" card.

I usually write tons of postcards but mostly to little kids and people who like to get mail. I know that I even like to get mail so I don't mind wasting the stamps to send them. Maybe this is what the BSC tried to do. You know, they are very charitable as discussed in another thread

And the same age as Tiffany Kilbourne who gets sent home with notes from teachers and has to have a baby-sitter! Yeah, that's always bugged me.

Are the Walkers mentioned in this book? I really like reading about them. I know the sitters watch Alistar and Rowena but couldn't remember if they did any other babysitting.

I live in CT myself, so it always seemed hilarious to me that the BSC would send postcards from NYC...which is like, a day trip from anywhere in the state. Even if you're staying overnight and making an actual vacation out of it, the whole idea of sending postcards to people back home seemed to me like sending postcards from the next town over or something, and acting like it was this huge deal...

blossom, yes, Dawn was a big old baby any time they went to NYC. It was so annoying.

^ Dawn annoyed me, too, in NY. It seemed almost out of character. Didn't Richie help her get over her fear a little bit in this one? I liked him I really like this book and need to reread soon.

^ I think he did. I remember him taking her to Madison Avenue and showing her a Laura Ashley store and she got all excited over that.

^I remember that too. They walked around and ate alot too. Boy you'd think Dawn wouldn't be such a chicken. There are big cities in California too. LOL.

^ Ha ha. ;D In the first books (not sure where this one comes in the series, though) I remember Dawn eating chocolate, meat and other foods that the later Dawn would have never dreamed of touching. Another example of personalities becoming more extreme (or Dawn becoming more extreme with the "health food" stuff after living in CA for a while again).
