I agree with those who don't understand Stacey's reluctance to wear Maureen's clothing - she was perfectly happy to wear her mom's turquoise (aqua?) pants when she went on her date with Robert to Pizza Express and I swear there are other instances of her borrowing Maureen's clothes. Silly ghostwriters.

^ i admit i sometimes share tops with my mom, but a slender, 13 year old girl and her middle aged mother should not be wearing the same size pants.

And how do we know her mom is not slender? I wore my mom's jeans too in my early teens if they were nice and fitted

I think realistically Stacey could wear Maureen's pants but Maureen wouldn't fit well into Stacey's pants. Even if they were close in weight Jr. clothing isn't really cut for curves of adult women.

The turquoise pants were Stacey's. The only time I can remember Stacey wearing something of her mom's was that "slinky silk gown" for the January Jamboree. I read this over the weekend, Stacey's and Kristy's chapters are still the best. I love Louis Anderson, and the note he writes to Stacey telling her about his dream...he just seems like such a nice man. My sister was in London recently and bought me tea and a teddy bear from Harrods

I liked Michel and Kristy. Maybe I'm just saying that because I'm Canadian. But I thought him teasing her was much cuter than, let's say, Alan. Plus the fact that they both have a love of baseball, despite rooting for different teams. That tension may be a good thing though. I can see Kristy needing to be with someone who also has a love of sports and kids.

^I thought Michel was rather mean spirited. I hate people who purposely try to make you angry.

Yeah, Kristy even says he is hateful...and then is like "I still like him, though." lol

The sketch of Mal in the hotel breakfast room (I think?) makes her look exactly like John Lennon.

It's exciting but also sad for me to finally read my last Super Special! Like a lot of you have already said - I thought this book was surprisingly funny. I enjoyed it, more than I usually like Peter's books. There were a lot of lines I genuinely found funny that have already been mentioned, like the "Stuff it, Cokie"/"I don't have to" part. Some more I liked: "I'm making my European debut looking like a cover model for Parenting magazine" "She can't just diss me to my face. She has to give me a delayed-reaction insult." And to confirm what some others have said, yeah, William Shakespeare has no living descendants. Just more Bad Luck Mallory, getting her hopes up.

I actually really liked this one, Stacey and Kristy should have more joint chapters, they're funny together. Michel sounded like a Canadian version of Alan Gray
