I know. Not being an early bird, I could never relate to that.

Yeah, most teenagers sleep in much later than 9:30 when they sleep in. I didn't sleep very late on weekends when I was a teenager, because on Saturdays I had piano lessons at 9 a.m. and on Sundays I had to go to church, but now I sleep pretty late on the weekends.

I was totally abnormal as I was up by 6 or 6:30 am every weekend I showed horses and shows started at 8. Luckily, I was always an early riser anyway. Now my sleep schedule is all messed up but I still am "up" early. But agree, most teens could sleep all day - my cousins always did (and still do when they can It's not unusual for them to be going to bed at about 3 am and getting up at 1 or 2 pm.

I always thought it was weird that as soon as the girls get up, they are UP & ready to go. They always bounce out of bed, put their clothes on immediately, and then go join the family for breakfast before running off to a babysitting job. Don't they ever lounge around in their pjs or eat their cereal in front of the tv or other relaxing weekend things like that?

I don't think anyone in my house was functional before 10 am on a Saturday. LOL.

I was always like how they portray the girls in the BSC and so is my mom and her whole family. My dad's family on the other hand.... That's why I think there should have been both portrayed. I do seem to remember references, though, (Stacey and Jessi especially) about wanting to lounge around from some of the girls. But I can't see others (Kristy for one) being one to sit around for long.

I read the first few chapters of this last night, and something came to mind. When they were describing the car arrangements, and they said that Stacey and Dawn were both in the front seat of Watson's car with him, wouldn't that have been uncomfortable? I don't just mean physically, but to be squished up like that with someone else's dad for several hours? I'd hate it!

For your enjoyment, I shall post some of the "Gummity Woop Song" passage, which is in Sam's chapter: At first he thinks it must be Karen, but then he discovers it's Andrew: That? Is one of my favourite things in the entire BSC series. I always crack up when I read it.

If I were on a long car ride for that long, I wouldn't want to be squished like that...talk about uncomfortable

^ For me, it would definitely be physically uncomfortable riding that close to anyone but only "uncomfortable" in other ways depending on who the other dad was. I would have been fine with several of my friends' dads (in fact, I'm so close with one of them that he calls me his "little girl" because he doesn't have any daughters ;D) but wouldn't have even felt comfortable in the same vehicle with others. I think I would have been pretty comfortable with Watson or Richard or Mr. Pike. Maybe Mr. Ramsey, too. No way with Stacey or Dawn's dads and I think Mr. Kishi would make me uncomfortable just because he seems sort of cold and standoffish.

Just reread this one and liked it as always. Sam did annoy me but this behavior seemed totally normal for a 15 year old. I liked it how he wanted Charlie's advice and felt for him with never having a "father" figure other than Charlie when he was growing up. Liked Karen's chapters about the "lovely ladies" eating at the lodge, putting on the perfume, and fixing up the fort. Also enjoyed reading about Jessi and Daniel, though the "but what about Quint?" stuff got a little irritating. Liked MA's baby-sitting chapters but didn't care much for David-Michael's chapters - especially the one about Shannon because it seemed kind of pointless. Didn't care much for Claud's chapters about the boat and those of Kristy's that focused on the boat, either. I don't like boats, anyway, and never got why Kristy was so fascinated with that one. It also seems like Claudia is always getting obsessed with decorating some float for a parade. As easily embarrassed as she seems to be, I would think she would get embarrassed about some of the "creative" ideas she comes up with for costumes and floats. Dawn really bothered me in this one with her fixation on the monster and then the ghost, though I did like the ghost story a little and was almost glad that they never solved the mystery of what happened to Annie. That did feel a bit unfinished, though. I think my favorite chapters were Mal's. The whole time I read them, I kept thinking of my mom and how she gets bit by bugs the exact same way. I really felt for Mallory because I know how miserable it can be from watching mom suffer. Despite all the parts that I didn't like in this book, I like it overall. My favorite part, I think, is at the end when Kristy is thrilled that Watson calls her his daughter and then signs the letter to him "your daughter"
