The BSC got tons of practice with childcare skills at an early age. (I know they were in eighth grade from 1988 to 2000, but I'm going to make them currently 37 for the main members and 35 for the junior members for the heck of it), what type of moms do you think they became with their own kids? What age do you think they had their kids and would any of them remain childless or childfree?
I picture Kristy is the most "free range mom" who gives her kids more freedom than is typical of middle class families in 2015; she promotes independence in her kids without hovering over them and allows her tweens a lot more freedom than most of their peers. I would imagine she had her first kid at age 25 and her three kids are now: boy; age 12 and twins (boy and girl, age 9). She is divorced, works in marketing, and has joint custody of the kids.
Mary Anne is a helicopter parent; although she started babysitting herself when she was barely 12, she has just one daughter who is 2 (after years of trying to conceive) and won't leave her with anyone but a certified child development professional (over age 21, coursework in child development, and various health certifications with full background check). She is a stay at home mom who runs a popular mommy's blog which is also dominated by parents who share her style.
Claudia is somewhere in between; she has an two daughters; almost 12 and 7 and hasn't left them home alone yet (aunt Janine baby-sits for free) but doesn't hover over them constantly. She balances being a mom and running her private art studio. Her older daughter takes after both Claudia and Janine in the sense that loves math and science and does extremely well in school but is also a fashionista and artsy as well.
Stacey has an 8 year old son. Since she herself is a head accountant married to a Wall Street Whiz, they are super wealthy and send their kid to a super prestigious private school and have a full time nanny for him. He attends all sorts of classes but Stacey and her husband both try to make time for him on weekends. Their kid is only 8 but has already traveled the world as they take a trip overseas over summer. Stacey's diabetes is fully under control.
Dawn is a hippie mom who homeschools her 4 kids (ranging in age from 2 to 14). She still lives in California and is married to an environmental layer (she previously worked in the environmental field but now focuses on homeschooling has her main job). Her kids co slept and brest fed well into their toddler years and only eat organic food. She limits screen time and none are allowed to play any video games unless they're educational (the older two do some of their school work online). They now live in a more rural area and raise their own livestock and grow much of their own fruits and veggies as part of their lifestyle and curriculum.
Mallory is the only one who has remained childfree: burned out from caring for her siblings all these years. She is a professional writer living alone in an apartment in New York City.
Jessi: after dancing professionally through college and for a couple of years afterwards, she retired from dance at the age of 25 when she became pregnant with her first child. She stayed home with him for 3 years and then ended up working at his preschool. She is now pregnant with her second child. Jessi is a very hands-on involved mom but not a helicopter, overprotective type either. She teachers preschool during the morning but spends the afternoons teaching her son various things and getting him involved in multiple extra curricular activities but she pays attention to his cues and never pushes him into something he doesn't want to do. She wants him to discover his own passion the way she did with dance. So far, her son loves lots of different things; karate, t-ball, kid computer coding, etc but doesn't have a strong passion for one thing the way Jessi did.
Abby: sorry, never go to know her (stopped reading long before she was in the BSC) but please someone else fill in
