In Aloha Abby had a chapter about how she procrastinated packing until that very morning. I found it funny because I do the same thing.

I loved them all, but it's been so long since i've read any of the BSC books except for NY NY and abby's un-valentine...all my old books kinda got....lost... . I can't really think of a BSC book i disliked...though now NY NY is starting to get old because i read it so much for nostalgia reasons.

New York, New York because I've always had an obsession with NYC.

I love Snowbound! I think it is because I have lived in Florida for the past 11 years and really miss the snow from Northern CA. I love Mary Anne's and Mallory's adventure and I think Kristy is so silly in this book! Then of course Claudia with the Perkin girls, whom I absolutely adore, especially Gabbie.

I loved Snowbound the best! Everyone's experience was different, and it wasn't just one big carnival or save-the-day act by Kristy. That was a nice relief from some of the other super specials.

I picked Basbysitter's on Board probably because of the nostalgia factor and it's old classic style but I really love them all, especially the warm weather ones. Summer Vacation reminds me of all my summer camp experiences that I loved as a kid. And I always liked California Girls and Aloha because I loved the beach. I really want to get my hands on a copy of Snowbound to re-read because I barely remember that one but I feel like I'd love it because as a kid I always had fantasies about getting trapped inside during a storm, possibly caused by reading that book.

^ I'm surprised that there wouldn't be a big blizzard in Toronto. That's even north of us in MI and we've had a few bad ones (one of them on Thanksgiving day a few years ago and one in April ;D) that I can remember.

I don't think I should pick a favorite Super Special out of all these, as I've only read NY, NY and CA Girls so far! I know I liked those a lot- NY NY mainly because, like Gracie, I have an obsession with NYC. ;D In some ways I even like CA Girls better, based on the story content. In that one, I liked all of the chapters, whereas some of the ones in NY, NY bored me a little (Kristy and that stray dog, for instance). In CA Girls, I especially liked the chapters about Stacey and her surfing friends, Claudia and Terry, and Mallory's drama ;D. So far, CA Girls might actually be my true favorite. I'm getting Aloha for Christmas, so I'll have to see how well I like that one.
Snowbound sounds good, too. Maybe I should get that one sometime. I love snow! It's finally snowing again where I live (yea!). I hope it sticks around for Christmas Day. Last year we had a green Christmas instead of a white one.

Oh I've been through blizzards but rarely where everything completely shuts down and you're stuck for a long period of time. In Canada they seem to be more prepared for big storms. Although last year I did get a couple days of classes being cancelled - but it somehow seems more glamorous in a book.

If I had to pick another favorite, I'd say Babysitters on Board -- I love reading about their cruise! Although it bugged me that they enjoyed Disney more than the cruise itself, because I would rather have had a longer cruise. Maybe I'm too old for it? I went to Disneyland a bunch of times when I was in 3rd & 4th grade, and then to Disney World when I was 19. It just didn't feel the same. It was cool, but it wasn't "magical".
And bunkbeds on cruise ships? I've never heard of that, but I've only been on 1 cruise (and my 2nd is later this month!), and you can either opt for 2 beds or 1. I'm still shocked that Karen ran off and got her nails done, without permission, because it would seem that a manicure on a cruise ship would be very pricey.

^ Disney doesn't have the same magic for me as it did when I was a kid but it's a different fun experience (for me and my family at least) I know it's not for everyone (which is good since it means shorter lines for us) but I feel like I'm never too old and still love it. I think part of the "magic" is letting yourself be a kid. I was glad that the sitters weren't "too cool" to enjoy it. Anyway, I love this one because of the Disney description. The cruise sounds awful for me because I wouldn't get into that kind of thing - even if I didn't get terribly motion sick to the point of basically not being able to ride on the ferry boats at Disney. ;D
