^ Or we could always write a fanfic about it. And I would probably say that Kristy would go back and become the new queen of the Amazons and have her army fight naked. I remember somewhere one of the sitters said that she would go to school naked if there weren't a law against it.

You know- we should all do a "round robin" kind of thing with these ideas. Totally. I would totally review every chapter. (Or maybe write some of it, if you needed a volunteer, but my writing isn't at its best these days...)

I'd be willing to help write, if anyone else wants to.

Mary Anne belongs in pre-Civil War New England, a la Little Women.
I can see Kristy as a warrior for some reason--maybe in the Revolution? She could dress up as a boy in order to be able to join the army.

Mary Anne belongs in pre-Civil War New England, a la Little Women. Oh but she'd be Beth, and you know what that means... Hmm...that would make Kristy=Jo, Stacey=Meg, and Claudia=Amy I guess. Amy even paints her clothes like Claudia!

Never made those Little Women connections but you're right. Now I'll have to think of some other literary ones. Dawn and Abby might be sort of like Jo too.

Oh my god, she would be Beth!
I think of Dawn as more of a Meg than Stacey is. Stacey would be Amy since she's the most spoiled of the bunch. Claudia, even though she's my favorite and one of the original four, doesn't belong in a Little Women world.
I'll have to think of more literary connections, too...that could be fun.

oh wow! whata great idea... seriously though.... if anyone wants to get together and write a fanfic with it, I'll so help I was going to mention the LIttle Women thing but when I got to the second page i saw it was already mentioned Maybe MA could go back in time and meet Louisa May Alcott and her family... hmmm Totally Lol'd at Kristy as Caeser...and not a good thing since i'm sitting in government class ... and speaking of time travel...maybe they could go into the future...remember the Deloreon did that too. Maybe someone finds a cure for diabetes and stacey tries to take it back to their time and cure herself? hmmmmmmmmm

I always thought of Mary Anne's mom as kind of a Beth-like character (or maybe just a Victorian stereotype). You know, the young female who is so good, pure, selfless, saintly that she's not destined for a long life on earth.

Speaking of time travel, which book was it where Carolyn or Marilyn Arnold made a "time machine" and was planning to charge the other charges to use it?

^ I remember that subplot and it is one of the reasons I can't stand Carolyn but I can't remember what book, either. I think it's a Claudia or Jessi book that takes place during the school year but I may be wrong on that. I know I just reread it so this is going to drive me crazy....
Just remembered two minutes after posting and checked my bookshelf ;D It's MA's Makeover but Jessi and Claud are the other two sitters who sit for the twins and help with the time machine.

^ I really can't stand that sub-plot. It's probably one of my least favourite. You guys have some awesome ideas for the girls! Kristy: Love her being either a mob boss (hee!) or an Amazon queen Claudia: I can see her going back to see Michelangelo paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, or meeting da Vinci or something like that. Mary Anne: The idea of meeting her mother is really sweet. I like it! Stacey: Agree about her being around for the Marie Antoniette era! I can see her always being on the cutting edge of fashion and causing scandals. Dawn: The '60s. It'd be interesting to see her go to a protest where the women are burning their bras, or something like that. Mal: I was going to say she'd go back to Shakespearian times and become his muse, inspiring a play that turns out to be Romeo and Juliet (same idea as Shakespeare in Love). Then I remembered that they're supposedly related and that would be gross, so I think she'd inspire him to write a great play without the torrid love affair. Jessi: I'd like to see her meet Fred Astaire and learn how to tap dance! Abby: She'd meet Elvis. For sure. ;D

Jessi: I'd like to see her meet Fred Astaire and learn how to tap dance! That would be awesome! But I've personally love to meet Gene Kelly

I could totally see them all going back and fighting for women's sufferage.
