^ Mine too, even though I have been fortunate enough to go several times. It's our favorite vacation spot. ;D Thinking about it is depressing me right now, though..... (I was SUPPOSED to go in May but now can't. Boo and Bullfrogs!) I was just thinking about their trips to Hawaii and Europe and wondering that at those places, where everyone would most like to visit. The BSC actually doesn't visit the same spots I would like to because I tend to be much more interested in historical sites and things like that instead of shopping and art museums, but those fit with the girls' interests, I guess. What about everyone else?

i like shopping and art museums better than historical sites. i think i just hate going to historical sites now because when i was in russia we would take these field trips to historical sites and our tour guides would be rambling old ladies who would tell us every. freaking. detail. and then the babushkas in the museum would yell at your for going through the exhibit the wrong way. ugh. shopping is definitely one of my favorite hobbies though, and i like buying things that i use, like clothes, much more than souvenirs that do nothing but gather dust. then you can be reminded of your trips by your outfit and not just by some snowglobe thing on a shelf. ;D

I like historical stuff and shopping. I also love museums and going to the theatre in other cities. I do not like cheesy souvenirs or tee-shirts with the name of the place you've been on them. It's so much cooler when people are like "i like your earrings" and you can say "thanks. I bought them in Hong Kong". Then they are like "OMG THATS SO COOL!" and it's not like you are advertising where you went on vacation. Because that would be like bragging.
I don't always like the historical tours though, because the guides tend to be over the top and/or really boring.

our tour guide at the kremlin had neon orange hair and kept on asking the russians in the group if they understood what she said (in russian). she also said that lenin knew 20 languages and was basically just super sad the the soviet union was no more. she was totally just making things up the whole time.

^ ;D I tend to avoid tours of any kind. I move too fast. ;D As for shopping, I don't like shopping anywhere (unless it involves a visit to a bookstore ;D). ;D

^and whenever you do want to look at something closer, there are a bunch of people pushing you, and the tour guide is forcing you on, with their faux cheerfulness and perky demeanor.

^ That does sound fun. ;D Where did the BSC visit in Paris? Did they visit the Eiffel Tower? I would want to go there for sure. Also Euro Disney. ;D

Kristy and Michel went to the Eiffel Tower. They did go to Euro Disney, but we don't see it in the books. Instead we see Kristy and Abby's sewer tour. Fun.

^ That always bugged me! The sewer never interested me, anyway, even without Euro Disney being my other option of something to read about. ;D

You can see the Eiffel tower all over Paris. It's ugly and detracts from the city's natural beauty. I'm kind of weird like that though. I'm not a huge fan of going to foreign cities and visiting the touristy stuff. I went to NYC every year growing up, and it took until a group trip before I went up the Empire State Building. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so jaded, not being able to get into that stuff. But then my "that's so cheesy/tacky/lame/boring" side overwhelms my "want to do the tourist thing" side.
Yes, I'm kind of a snob. I also HATE the stupid pyramid in front of the Louvre. I think it's hideous. I need to read European Vacation, because it sounds interesting.

The empire state building was boring. We took the elevator, and I spazed a little, because I was still getting over my elevator phobia, then we waited in a line, then they took our pictures, then we took another elevator and then we looked out at the city. It looked a lot like when we would go to the John Hancock building in Chicago. Then we left and I was like "people get excited about that?"
