Hey guys, interested in your thoughts on reading preference - I have all the BSC books now, and am wanting to re-start reading. But how to do it? Published order? LS, the the original series, then CD, then FF? What are your preferences?

My preference is published order. I think the two things that are weirdest about published order, though, are that 1) Baby-sitters on Board! is published after Hello, Mallory, but Stacey hasn't moved away yet, Mallory is a POV character but hasn't joined the club yet, and Jessi doesn't exist, and 2) The Summer Before is a prequel, so it's the last book published but takes place before all of the other books. I kind of like the idea of reading The Summer Before at the beginning and then again at the end.
Trying to make TKiMCC fit in with LS a way that makes chronological sense isn't really possible, either. But when the BSC goes through eighth grade thirteen times or so, I guess we have to expect that a lot of the chronology will not make sense.

During my reread session on my Nook, I'm currently going through the original series and some of the super specials.
When I finish them, I'm going on to the Mystery series and the Friends Forever series. Then, I'm moving on to the Little Sister series. I'm not sure though.

I think I might follow your lead and do the same with the Summer Before (even though I just read KGI oops), and maybe read SS1 a book earlier, haha!

I prefer reading in published order; like in the regular BSC series I'll read #1, 2, 3, etc. in order. But depending on the month or season, I'll read season or holiday centric books like in October I'll read Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls, MA's Bad Lucky Mystery, Kristy and the Mystery Admirer, etc. Most of the time though, it's published order.
As for the Super Specials, I only read and own the first ten. I read those all in published order as well and sometimes just reading the SS books during specific months or seasons or holidays.
I don't really read the LS, CD, and FF series, so I don't have a say in those books.

So far, I've read #1-8 of the regular series. I'll read up to 12 then "Baby Sitters on Board" then continue on in the regular series. I'm going to try to read them in the order they took place in the series. I haven't actually read all the books before, just random ones, so this is different for me. It's fun to read them in order though.
