My thoughts:
In my memory, it was a really long essay about decorum – not 100 words! That’s barely a sentence!
Kristy mentions that she, Claudia and Stacey know MA well – how well can Stacey know her?
I can’t imagine Kristy playing dolls or dress up!
Kristy says people can call them individually at other times – man does she get stricter!
Elizabeth and Watson have only been seeing each other FOUR months?!
Claudia’s outfit colours are all over the place! Lavender and red??
I kind of feel bad for Janine, the way Kristy cute her off. Like, I don’t think she realises how she comes across, so Kristy must seem so puzzling and rude to her!
Hehe Kristy is wearing a skirt, blouse and knee socks! And a blue hairband!
Now that I’ve been to New York, it’s interesting reading Stacey describe things. My previous knowledge of NY had mostly been from the BSC (and shows and stuff, but really, the BSC). I’m so interested to re-read the NY parts and be actually able to imagine the places they mention going, like the Hard Rock Café!
Kristy let’s Stacey in sooo easy compared to Mallory, and even Abby!
I do love Kristy demanding to know how much Stacey weighs haha!
Aww, it’s making me teary how well they’re getting along and agreeing on the positions… Man I’m getting sentimental in my old age!
I always remember Kristy’s snowman sandwich haha.
Oh man, I do love Kristy being such a brat in this chapter, even though I generally hate it. And I can imagine how Elizabeth and Watson feel, but her "I haven't finished this delicious dinner yet,” is just classic.
Cute that Elizabeth is their first customer when she gave Kristy the idea
Hahah Sam trolling on the meeting, was kind of funny, but also kind of sucky.
Kristy being upset that Claudia took the job for Mrs Newton – well what was Claudia supposed to do? Also, she was the only one who didn’t get a job during the meeting.
Ahh the infamous sitting job with Pinky and Buffy. I love that the names are weird for kids, but also, not impossible to think they could be kids names, like Spot or something.
Kristy thinking it must be safe because her mother didn’t warn her not to go – like Elizabeth would know of all the dangerous adults in Stoneybrook?
I love that they have an unfenced yard and two huge dogs – seems pretty irresponsible to me? Little dogs I could understand, but big dogs that need to be outside?
Also – I love the inflation. $3.50 for an afternoon baby/dog sitting. When I baby sat a few years ago it was like $15/$20 an hour!
Rob Feldman sounds like a real piece of work (not liking his own mother) – future serial killer maybe?
Ugh the gun stuff makes it even worse. I don’t know if it’s an American culture thing, but playing pretend with guns here just isn’t a thing.
I love how Kristy assumes that Staceys a knock out, rather than her brother is immature!
Hahaha Stacey is wearing number tens because she’s a number ten? Subliminal messaging maybe?
I also love how Sam stays and Stacey stays and Elizabeth is totally out of pocket. If I was her I’d expect Sam to take over if his plans fell through and he’s home anyway. Although I guess $3.50 for Stacey is a pretty fair deal haha!
I love how David Michael almost keeps blowing Sam’s cool cover!
I’m so surprised Richard didn’t interrogate a strange man picking up his daughter and driving her across town when Watson picks her up!
This backyard train doesn’t come up again… it sounds cool.
Seventeen pounds for a cat? I don’t know pounds but that sounds impossible…
I really like Karen in this chapter, she seems cute and not bratty!
I love how Mary Anne gets Andrew to agree with her because all he says is ‘yup’, when convincing Karen Mrs Porter isn’t a witch.
I would have the Kishi’s and Richard would be more about 9:30 than Elizabeth. Given how lax she is about everything else, I’d think she’d be okay with 10 like Stacey’s parents.
Richard won’t let MA spend $3 on pizza… seems extreme!!
I love Claudia’s argument about multiplying fractions – it is stupid.
Ahh the first (of many) BSC fights!
It’s so cute how excited David Michael is about the engagement... poor kid
Haha Karen thinking Charlie is thirty-five! That’ kinda close to my age :/
I always remembered the descriptions of fondue from these books and always wanted to try it!
Kristy’s note to Watson made me tear up a little, even though it’s not a mushy note, it’s kind of mushy by Kristy standards!
I never noticed before what a lame but nice tie in Kristy and Elizabeth talking about how the club helped every one is…
I love Kristy’s tactlessness in this situation in particular… Diabetes? Is that all?
I also love how Kristy turns a conversation about boys into a scary story telling, haha.
This book is so comforting! Very predictable, but probably because it’s so familiar.
